It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, from the evening of October 7 to the morning of October 8, in the Northwest and Viet Bac regions of the North, Hanoi will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 30-60mm, locally very heavy rain over 120mm; other places in the North and Thanh Hoa will have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally heavy rain over 60mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain (>100mm/3 hours).

Thunderstorms may contain tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.

It is forecasted that from tomorrow afternoon (October 8), heavy rain in the Northwest and Viet Bac regions of the North, and Hanoi city will decrease.

The meteorological agency warned that heavy rains could cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams; and landslides on steep slopes. Local authorities and people need to proactively take preventive measures and respond promptly.
