(CLO) The Vietnam Women's Union has just sent an official dispatch to press agencies to promote propaganda and respond to participate in the National Press Award on Gender Equality in 2024.
The award aims to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action and 10 years of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), the Vietnam Women's Union has coordinated with the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the National Press Award on Gender Equality in 2024.

This is the first press award on gender equality held in Vietnam, marking an important step forward in efforts to promote gender equality through the role of the press; at the same time, recognizing the positive contributions of the press in promoting gender equality, enhancing women's empowerment and eliminating violence against women and children in Vietnam.
In order for the Award to achieve many practical results, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union requests that central press agencies and provinces/cities across the country pay attention and respond. In particular, widely promote the National Press Award on Gender Equality in 2024, at the same time, encourage and motivate journalists, reporters, and editors to select excellent press works to compete.
The content of the entries focuses on three main topics: Prevention and response to gender-based violence; Gender equality in digital transformation; Gender equality in economic development.
Works submitted to the Award must have been published in mass media licensed by a competent State agency between January 1, 2022 and November 30, 2024.
The award is expected to be presented on December 15, 2024. Information about the award will be widely published on the media channels of the Vietnam Women's Union, UN Women and domestic press agencies, contributing to spreading and promoting the spirit of gender equality.
