The Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of the district has advised the district People's Committee to direct localities to perform well the management and care work, and at the same time make plans to build, renovate and embellish works honoring martyrs, especially focusing on building and upgrading martyr cemeteries. Since 2020, together with the budget capital of the central government, the province, the district and other support sources, Tien Hai district has spent more than 20 billion VND to upgrade and renovate works honoring martyrs. The most typical ones include the central martyrs' cemetery in the district, the martyrs' cemetery in Nam Trung commune, the martyrs' cemetery in Bac Hai commune... The martyrs' memorials have been invested in and upgraded, putting on a new coat, more spacious, cleaner and more impressive, thereby expressing the great gratitude of the people of Tien Hai district to the excellent sons of their homeland who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people.

The martyrs' cemetery in Vu Lang commune is the resting place of 95 martyrs. Mr. Tran Van Tru, Chairman of Vu Lang Commune People's Committee, shared: Every year, we always pay attention to and do a good job of caring for and preserving the martyrs' memorial works in the area. We direct the site manager to regularly be present at the cemetery area of the commune to look after and care for the martyrs' graves as well as guide people to offer incense. On holidays and Tet, departments, branches, and organizations in the commune coordinate with schools to organize cleaning and light candles to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs. In 2021, with state support funds, Vu Lang commune also mobilized over 2 billion VND in socialized resources to repair and upgrade the martyrs' cemetery. Up to now, the project has been completed with a very beautiful and solemn space. This is truly a place to educate revolutionary traditions, to help the younger generation better understand the sacrifices and losses of their ancestors to have the peaceful life today.

Having been involved in the cemetery care for many years, Mr. Dang Ngoc Thanh, the cemetery manager of Vu Lang commune martyrs cemetery, said: I am responsible for managing, protecting, and taking care of the garden and other auxiliary works to keep the cemetery clean and dignified. I open the door every day for people as well as relatives of martyrs to visit the cemetery. Although the work is sometimes hard, I am very proud of this job because I can contribute my small part to thank generations of fathers and brothers who have fallen for the survival of the nation.

After the war, 4,918 sons of Tien Hai homeland were left on the battlefield; to date, only more than 1,800 martyrs have been brought back to rest in the locality. The places where they are lying or many works honoring martyrs in the district, up to this point, have generally been built to ensure aesthetics, in accordance with local customs and practices. Most cemeteries are built on spacious, airy plots of land and are solemnly designed, with trees, fences, and caretakers. Performing well the management of works honoring martyrs is not only a responsibility and obligation, but also shows gratitude for the great sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who fell for today's peace.
