Love Station, broadcast at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 on VTV1 channel with the theme "Singing to change life", will be a sincere and loving story about a blind boy in the land of coconuts.

This week's Love Station opens with the sweet sound of the guitar and the gentle voice of Mr. Hoang Phuoc with the song "Love of the mat seller". He revealed that he has performed in many places, many locations, many stages, but performing at Love Station in the middle of the Capital makes him feel special. Explaining his name, he said: director Minh Ngoc, because of his love for the sound of the guitar, combined his hometown's name with his name and from there the name "Phuoc Ben Tre" was born.

Talking about his situation, Mr. Phuoc said that he was born into a large family in Cho Lach, Ben Tre. He was born blind, and only when he grew up, he stumbled every time he walked and had no friends to play with, did he realize that he was different. Although he could not see the light, he had a good sense of music, and from a young age he showed a talent for imitating the voices of famous artists such as Ut Tra On, Thanh Tuan, Chi Tam... The young but meaningful voice of the blind teenager made both adults and children moved with emotion.

The moment he was admitted to a school for the disabled to study culture was the milestone that turned a new page in Phuoc's life. In addition to studying culture, teachers also taught him talents. Instruments had a strange attraction to the blind boy from the coconut land. Once, when he was selling lottery tickets, he heard the sad sound of a beggar's instrument. He said something that changed the life of the blind boy Hoang Phuoc: "You have been educated, and you have knowledge, that's good. But if you don't learn a profession, when you grow up, you will be a beggar." From then on, thinking that he had a profession other than the natural talent for art, Phuoc threw himself into practicing music, from the mandolin, guitar, lute to flute... Having studied properly and practicing diligently, Phuoc became versatile, able to play many musical instruments and sing many songs.

Unable to see or find a job, Mr. Phuoc sells lottery tickets to earn money to support his life. When a friend who knew he was good at playing and singing invited him to work at tourist attractions in the countryside, he immediately accepted. Because at least in those places he could live fully with his passion and expertise. And more than that, there, the name Hoang Phuoc was introduced and asked sincerely, so that when he returned to his hometown of Cho Lach, he could confidently answer when people asked about his job. Since then, Hoang Phuoc has been known far and wide as a guy with a strong, warm voice, "half like Thanh Tuan, half like Ut Tra On", two monuments of the art of traditional music and reformed opera.

Through the report of Love Station, the audience will see Hoang Phuoc participating in programs produced by organizations for the disabled such as "Ngoc trong tim", to competitions, performances, game shows... Appearing with people in the same situation or big names in showbiz, Hoang Phuoc always leaves an impression and wins the affection of the audience.

At first, people were interested in the image of a blind artist playing music so well. Later, people forgot about his disability and invited him because of Phuoc's emotional singing voice. Although he is famous throughout the coconut land and neighboring provinces, Hoang Phuoc still maintains the honest and simple nature of an artist who plays guitar and sells lottery tickets at ferry terminals and markets. If he has the opportunity to serve, whether it is a big or small program, day or night, far or near, as long as he is healthy enough to go, he will go: "Wherever they remember me, I will go. Especially programs serving people with disabilities. There, I sing not only for people in the same situation. I also sing for myself. Life does not give me light but compensates with something else."

Hoang Phuoc always considers himself a lucky person. His natural singing voice not only helped him change his life but also helped him find the love of his life - a kind and tolerant wife who is introduced as his "other half". When talking about his wife, Mr. Phuoc constantly smiles happily. According to Ms. Nhat Ha (Mr. Phuoc's wife): "I was the one who went to the poor boarding house in the suburbs of Ben Tre to meet the blind musician to learn to sing. At that time, I was very surprised to see the small house neat and clean as if it was taken care of by a woman's hand. After a while, Mr. Phuoc was the one who confessed his love...".

“At that time, I liked her so much that I took the risk to confess: You don’t need to love me because I’m disabled and blind. Letting me love you is enough!” – recalling that moment, Mr. Phuoc was moved to tears. And after 8 months, they got married. For Mr. Phuoc, that was the greatest gift, his wife was not only a support for love, but also a pair of eyes that helped him see life.

When asked about his future dreams, he only wishes to have good health to accompany his wife on the next journey, and continue his work of bringing songs to life, spreading the will to live to many blind people and those in situations like his. The gift from Love Station gives wings to those humanitarian plans./.
