Continue to care for the lives of union members and workers

- The Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor organizes activities to celebrate International Labor Day, Workers' Month, and Occupational Safety and Health Action Month in 2025 to affirm the role, position and important contributions of the working class in the local socio-economic development; as a pioneering force in labor production, innovation, and contributing to the sustainable development of the province. This is an activity to raise awareness and responsibility of authorities at all levels, businesses and the whole society in caring for the lives, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers; creating a safe and healthy working environment, promoting the development of high-quality human resources in the locality. This activity aims to encourage workers to actively study, improve their professional qualifications and skills, adapt to the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution; proactively change careers, meet local labor needs and international integration trends.

Trade unions at all levels must organize Workers' Month in conjunction with major national and local events in 2025, especially the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025), the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), activities to celebrate party congresses at all levels and the Month of Action for Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2025.

We hope to thereby create a strong ripple effect, attracting the attention of local authorities, businesses and the whole society to the issues of employment, life and welfare of workers in the province.

The Provincial Federation of Labor sets a target that during Workers' Month, at least 55% of trade unions at enterprises will have at least one practical activity in response to Workers' Month; from 35% of trade unions at administrative agencies and public service units will organize appropriate activities in response to Workers' Month in 2025.

* What activities will trade unions at all levels have to make Workers' Month truly meaningful to workers, sir?

- With the theme of Vietnamese workers taking the lead in entering the new era, trade unions at all levels will focus on activities such as organizing the Creative Workers Program confidently entering the new era; the May Dialogue program, the Party-Workers - Workers-Party forum, Thank you to workers; Creative Labor Festival 2025. Accordingly, at these programs, propaganda and mobilization work will be promoted, union members and workers will study and improve their skills; innovate working style, improve integration skills. Creative emulation movements, encouraging union members to propose initiatives, improve techniques, apply modern technology to production, and improve labor productivity will continue to be promoted. At the Creative Labor Festival 2025, the union will organize competitions to propose ideas, initiatives, and solutions to innovate production, save materials, and improve work efficiency; honoring and praising workers with outstanding achievements in work and many technical innovation initiatives. Also at these programs, leaders of party committees, authorities, and trade unions listen to and resolve workers' issues; coordinate with professionals to organize activities to care for and support workers such as visiting, giving gifts, praising exemplary workers with many years of service. At the same time, the trade union also organizes exchange activities, vacations, meetings with workers' families, cultural and sports festivals, and health care festivals to create a joyful, exciting, united, and cohesive atmosphere among union members and workers.

Workers' Month 2025 is held from April 28 to May 31. Trade unions at all levels focus on taking care of union members and workers, especially union members and workers in difficult circumstances, with many activities such as giving gifts, giving houses, organizing dialogues, signing collective labor agreements, etc.

Also in Workers' Month, we identify this as the peak month for developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, and introducing and developing party members.

* Sir, how will the work of developing union and party members be carried out this month?

- Trade unions at all levels promote propaganda and mobilize workers to raise awareness and responsibility for participating in building the working class and trade union activities; voluntarily join the Vietnam Trade Union. Trade unions coordinate with enterprises and units to focus resources on developing union members; represent and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers, create a breakthrough in developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions, especially in non-state enterprises, informal sector workers, and organize the admission of the May class of union members.

Regarding the Party development work, we will review, discover, and build core union members, typical examples of progress in labor, production, and union activities. On this occasion, the union will select and introduce outstanding union members for the Party Committee to train and consider admitting them into the Communist Party of Vietnam, with attention paid to union members who are direct producers.
