This is a meaningful milestone marked on the Long Thanh Airport Project construction site, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

According to ACV, the lighting system for runway 1 at Long Thanh Airport uses 100% LED technology imported from Europe, meeting the highest technical standards in the international aviation sector. In addition, Long Thanh Airport is also equipped with an ILS/DME precision landing guidance system, helping to guide aircraft to approach and land safely, even in bad weather conditions.

These two systems work together synchronously to ensure that take-off and landing take place safely and with absolute precision in all weather conditions, improving the operational capacity and stability of the airport.

The successful completion and operation of the runway 1 lighting system is the result of the tireless efforts of the investor, the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board and the joint venture contractor. Accordingly, the contractor mobilized more than 1,000 personnel and 243 pieces of equipment, simultaneously deployed 30 construction teams to complete the installation of all equipment, ensuring the system operates stably and safely. The successful opening of the lighting system is an important step forward, contributing to affirming that the runway has basically met the technical conditions to conduct calibration flights as planned before April 30, 2025.
