In addition, the Trade Unions at all levels organize new, useful and attractive playgrounds, attracting a large number of workers and laborers to participate: game show "Tan ca Vui - Khoe"; Trade Union cultural activity points.
Game show “Tan ca Vui – Khoe” is the first television playground for union members and workers.
In particular, the game show “Tan ca Vui – Khoe” is the first television playground for union members and workers at all levels of the city’s Trade Union, implemented by the City Labor Federation (LDLĐ) in coordination with Da Nang Radio and Television Station after 4 years of incubation and preparation.
The program is a combination of legal knowledge and physical exercise, suitable for many professions. Not focusing on knowledge related to laws, resolutions, directives, regimes, and legal policies like legal competitions, in this playground, teams watch legal situations through short videos and present their comments and understanding.
“The highlight of each episode is that the Labor Federation gives gifts to support union members, workers in difficult circumstances, children of workers with serious illnesses, etc. from sources mobilized from benefactors and businesses. Depending on each case, the support level ranges from 3 million VND to 30 million VND/case,” informed Vice President of the City Labor Federation Nguyen Van Dai.
One of the outstanding activities of Workers' Month 2024 is that the City National Assembly Delegation coordinated with the City Labor Federation to organize a thematic conference to meet voters with workers in early May 2024.
The city's National Assembly delegation met with voters on a thematic basis with workers and laborers to listen to voters' thoughts, aspirations, and proposals and to solicit opinions on the draft Law on Social Insurance (amended) and the Law on Trade Unions (amended).
The meeting was truly a forum for workers to present their recommendations and aspirations to the city leaders and the Federation leaders with 11 opinions revolving around issues related to life, employment, housing... for workers and laborers: the situation of enterprises being slow and owing social insurance payments for workers and the request to strictly handle, as well as promote the role of the enterprise's Trade Union organization in this issue.
Voters and workers also suggested that the National Assembly should pay attention to discussing and have appropriate policies for workers when withdrawing social insurance at one time; Propose to strengthen administrative reform in implementing insurance policies; pay attention to periodic health check-ups for workers, maternity regime for voluntary social insurance participants; support social housing; have policies to support and guide businesses in implementing training to ensure occupational safety and hygiene; have policies to facilitate business union activities, promote the role of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers...
Voters make recommendations at the meeting
At the meeting, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang acknowledged and accepted the enthusiastic opinions, suggestions and recommendations of the workers and laborers. At the same time, he provided specific information on reviewing and reconsidering specific conditions to expand the appropriate subjects, creating conditions for workers to enter the workers' housing area; the implementation of social housing projects;... In particular, the Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized: "In the coming time, the city will continue to have more policies and support mechanisms for workers, especially workers participating in trade unions".
Affirming the role of the Trade Union
The theme of the City Trade Union's work in 2024 is: "Focus on implementing the Resolution of the 17th Congress of the City Trade Union and the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union; Launching an emulation movement to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union".
The most important focus is on establishing grassroots trade unions and developing union members. The first of the basic targets that must be completed is to develop an additional 19,000 members of the Vietnam Trade Union from now until the end of the year; and the term goal to be achieved is to develop 53,000 union members.
City Labor Federation launches Grab City Technology Drivers Union
Recently, the Independent Preschool Classes Union and the City Grab Technology Drivers Union were established one after another, becoming a solid support, representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests as well as taking care of the lives of thousands of workers in the informal sector.
However, according to statistics, the whole city has more than 300 thousand workers working in the informal sector. This is really a large number and the Trade Union needs to gather, manage, support, help, care for and represent and protect these workers.
“We are particularly interested in the informal workforce in the technology driving industry, teachers in private independent kindergartens as well as freelance workers in many other service industries. This is a relatively large workforce, contributing significantly to the development of the city but working independently and individually. The Union needs to gather to take care of and support them better. The goal is to establish grassroots unions in enterprises with more than 10 employees, and establish grassroots unions in industries with many freelance workers,” said Phan Thi Thuy Linh, Chairwoman of the City Labor Federation.
In addition, issues of welfare for union members, workers' cultural institutions, social housing projects, workers' housing, and solutions to help workers avoid falling into the black credit trap are major problems that the City Labor Federation is currently focusing on finding effective solutions for.
Therefore, the City Trade Union will survey and grasp the needs of workers to build a long-term welfare project for union members; make efforts to advise the city leaders to soon issue preferential loan packages for workers, speed up the implementation of social housing projects from the city budget and socialized sources.
In enterprises, the quality of collective labor agreements is improved with core contents on wages, labor contracts, working hours, working environment, and health care for employees.
The City Labor Federation is particularly interested in the informal workforce in the technology driving industry, teachers in private independent preschools, as well as freelance workers in many other service industries.
Recently, the Politburo issued Conclusion No. 79-KL/TW dated May 13, 2024 on Continuing to implement Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW on building and developing Da Nang city to 2030, with a vision to 2045; creating political determination for the 15th National Assembly to issue Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 dated June 26, 2024 on organizing urban government and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city. In particular, Da Nang is implementing an unprecedented model in our country. If successfully implemented, it will create a premise to promote the socio-economic development of Da Nang and the whole region.
In that context, it requires the city's Trade Unions at all levels to continue to innovate, have more practical activities, and more clearly affirm their role in accompanying the government and businesses so that workers can have sustainable jobs and a better quality of life. From there, contributing to the goal of building an increasingly strong working class in the spirit of Conclusion No. 79-KL/TW of the Politburo on promoting the implementation of Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW of the 10th Party Central Committee on "Continuing to build the Vietnamese working class in the period of promoting industrialization and modernization of the country".
