Conference overview.
On the morning of June 23, the Thanh Hoa Union of Science and Technology Associations (hereinafter referred to as the Union) held the 9th Executive Committee meeting for the 2018-2023 term; reviewed the work of the first 6 months of the year, deployed tasks for the last 6 months of 2023; took a vote of confidence in the leaders and managers of the Union; and launched participation in the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award 2023.

The report at the conference showed that in the first 6 months of the year, the work of consolidating and developing the organization of the Union of Associations has been increasingly improved and put into order. The Union of Associations continues to maintain the number of member associations, affiliated centers, and affiliated units. The implementation of professional tasks, contributing to the cause of socio -economic development, has been effectively implemented. In the first 6 months of the year, information and knowledge dissemination activities have been innovated in many forms. The Union of Associations has supported member associations and affiliated centers to organize seminars, training sessions, and communication on scientific and technological advances for hundreds of cadres, members and people; consulting, criticism and social appraisal activities at member associations have been actively and enthusiastically implemented. Scientific staff of the Union of Associations and member associations have participated in consulting activities and specialized scientific councils, making good contributions to programs and projects of departments, branches and localities. The Union of Associations and member associations continue to implement dozens of topics and projects at provincial, branch and grassroots levels; Participate in giving opinions on mechanisms, policies, economic development programs, improving the investment and business environment, topics and projects that have many impacts on social life.
The Union has also coordinated with a number of departments, agencies and branches to launch and implement the Youth and Children's Creativity Contest, the Vietnam Science and Technology Creativity Award, etc. Foreign affairs and international cooperation activities have been well implemented. The Union has mobilized the participation of many experts and leading scientists from the Central and local levels to help and transfer scientific and technological advances in programs and projects with high results.
In the last 6 months of 2023, the Association sets the following goals: Continue to do well in political and ideological work; promote political and social activities, perform well assigned functions and tasks; improve the effectiveness of organizational building and development; improve the quality and efficiency of all fields of operation; carry out emulation movements, summarize and replicate advanced models and examples.
At the conference, comrade Nguyen Van Phat, Chairman of the Union of Associations, presented the draft Resolution of the Executive Committee of the 6th term, 2018-2023, on organizing the Union Congress for the 2024-2029 term.
Delegates discussed a number of issues on the implementation of key tasks in the last 6 months of 2023; gave comments and adjusted a number of contents of the draft Resolution of the Executive Committee of the 6th term, 2018-2023 term on organizing the Congress of the Association for the 2024-2029 term.
On this occasion, the Union launched participation in the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award 2023.
