As a traditional martial art, rich in tradition and potential, Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts has not yet developed as expected.

That is also the concern of those who love the nation's martial art and want to bring Vietnamese traditional martial arts to the world .

Legal corridor is available

As the crystallization of the nation's martial spirit, Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts has gone through ups and downs with the country. Throughout its history, the schools and martial arts schools of Traditional Martial Arts have constantly created, cultivated and passed down, creating a treasure trove of moves, positions, boxing forms, weapon forms, and unique tactics imbued with the unique cultural features, martial spirit, bravery, and indomitability of the entire Vietnamese nation.

Traditional martial arts is the quintessence of Vietnamese martial arts.

During thousands of years of building and defending the country, Traditional Martial Arts has not only been a sport for our people to practice self-defense skills and improve their health, but also aroused pride, love for their homeland and country, the spirit of solidarity and the fine cultural traditions of generations of Vietnamese people. According to the President of the Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts Federation Nguyen Ngoc Anh, stemming from the great role and significance of Traditional Martial Arts in the comprehensive development of human beings and the building of an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity, on August 19, 1991, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers signed Decision No. 252/CT to allow the establishment of the Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts Federation. Implementing the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 10/QD-BVHTTDL on April 3, 2014 approving the Project "Preserving and developing Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts to 2020".

From 2015 to present, the Government has issued many documents directing the development of traditional martial arts in schools, researching, collecting, preserving ancient martial arts, restoring martial arts temples and building university and post-graduate majors in traditional martial arts; assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to develop a "Project to promote traditional Vietnamese martial arts". The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also assigned the General Department of Sports and Physical Training (now the Department of Sports and Physical Training) to develop a Project "Preserving and developing traditional Vietnamese martial arts until 2030"; the Military sector also issued a Plan to develop traditional martial arts in the Vietnam People's Army; Provinces and cities across the country have also been developing Projects/Plans to preserve and develop traditional cultural identities and traditional sports in their localities for the period 2021 - 2030.

“The attention of the Party, the State, all levels and sectors has created a legal corridor, which is a good condition for Vietnamese traditional martial arts to develop. The problem is what we must do in the future to develop Vietnamese traditional martial arts, from that attention,” Mr. Ngoc Anh shared.

“Organizing the workshop is just one of the first steps. In addition, we will coordinate with relevant units to carry out a series of comprehensive solutions. One of the immediate tasks is to promote Vietnamese traditional martial arts to the world, so that international friends can see all the beauty of this martial art, which is the crystallization of the nation's martial arts.
