Nearly 66,000 people went to work abroad in the first 5 months of the year
According to the Department of Overseas Labor Management, Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs , the total number of Vietnamese workers working abroad in May 2024 was over 17,000 people, of which about 5,200 were female workers.
Japan is still leading with over 5,500 workers, followed by Taiwan (China) with about 6,700 people, and South Korea with nearly 4,400 workers...
Thus, in the first 5 months of 2024, the total number of Vietnamese workers working abroad is about 65,800, reaching over 52% of the annual plan.
The largest is Japan with about 35,000 people, Taiwan (China) with over 21,600 workers, South Korea with about 5,200 people...
In 2024, the Department of Overseas Labor Management sets a target of sending about 125,000 Vietnamese people to work abroad under contracts.
The department is currently negotiating with several European countries (Germany, Greece, Poland, Hungary, Romania) and Israel and Canada to send skilled workers to work. Thereby, expanding high-income labor markets for Vietnamese people.
Novaland giant borrows hundreds of billions of dong from subsidiary
No Va Group Joint Stock Company (Novaland) has just announced a resolution of the board of directors approving loans for the purpose of supplementing working capital.

Specifically, Novaland will borrow a total value of nearly 300 billion VND.
Notably, the two businesses lending to Novaland are its subsidiaries, including No Va My Dinh Real Estate JSC with a loan value of more than VND177 billion; and Thanh Nhon Real Estate JSC with VND115 billion.
The term of the above loans is 10 months, interest rate is 5.2% per year.
The Board of Directors unanimously authorizes the company's legal representative or general director to sign relevant agreements, contracts, documents and carry out necessary procedures.
The consolidated financial report for the first quarter of 2024 shows that Novaland directly holds nearly 100% of the capital in both of the above enterprises.
Businesses fined for…having few bosses
The State Securities Commission has just issued a decision to sanction administrative violations in the field of securities with Ha Tinh Minerals and Trading Corporation.
Accordingly, the enterprise was fined VND 65 million for not disclosing information on time with the explanatory report on profit after corporate income tax and the audited financial report of the parent company in 2022 when the difference was 10% or more compared to the report of the same period last year.
Many other explanatory reports were also not published by the enterprise on time, such as:
- Explanation of after-tax profit of the audited semi-annual consolidated financial statements for 2023, the difference is 5% or more, after-tax profit is converted from profit to loss compared to before the audit;
- Explain that the after-tax profit of the parent company's audited semi-annual financial report for 2023 differs by 10% or more compared to the same period last year.
In addition, Ha Tinh Minerals and Trading Corporation was fined VND125 million for failing to ensure that at least one-third of the total number of board members are non-executive members as prescribed.
Health insurance medical examination and treatment expenses in Hanoi for half a year can be over 11,000 billion VND
According to news from Hanoi Social Insurance, by the end of June 2024, the cost of medical examination and treatment under health insurance is estimated to be over 11,000 billion VND, an increase of more than 23% over the same period in 2023.

By the end of May 2024, the city had nearly 5 million medical examinations and treatments, of which over 4.2 million were outpatients. The cost of medical examinations and treatments covered by health insurance was about 9,000 billion VND.
It is estimated that by mid-2024, the number of people participating in health insurance will reach over 8 million, covering over 94% of the population, an increase of about 300,000 people (an increase of nearly 4%) over the same period in 2023.
This agency assessed that the number of people seeking medical treatment at central and city-level hospitals has increased. The situation where city-level or central-level hospitals are treating common diseases and managing patients with non-communicable diseases without complications is still common.
In the coming time, Hanoi Social Insurance and the inspection, labor - war invalids and social affairs, health, police, tax sectors... will continue to coordinate to inspect, examine, and overcome slow and evasive payment of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance.
Through nearly 1,000 inspections and checks in the first 5 months of 2024, units have overcome about 78 billion VND of late payment of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance (reaching over 81%).
