Situation of Vietnamese people after earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , on the afternoon of March 28, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in central Myanmar, injuring many people and damaging many structures in Myanmar and Thailand.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed Vietnamese representative agencies in Thailand and Myanmar to quickly grasp information about the situation of Vietnamese citizens. According to preliminary information from Vietnamese representative agencies in Myanmar and Thailand, so far, there has been no information about Vietnamese people affected by the earthquake.

Following the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese representative agencies in Myanmar and Thailand continue to maintain close contact with local authorities and Vietnamese community leaders in earthquake-affected areas to closely monitor the situation; be ready to deploy citizen protection plans if necessary; and advise people to closely monitor announcements and comply with instructions from local authorities to guard against earthquake aftershocks in the next 24 hours.
