Sin Suoi Ho Border Post, Lai Chau Provincial Border Post, is assigned to manage and protect 9,272km of border in 3 communes: Sin Suoi Ho, Nam Xe, Ban Lang, Phong Tho district. In recent years, the unit has focused on implementing well the mass mobilization work with many programs and activities to help people. Thereby, contributing to strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people, joining hands and being unanimous in building and protecting a peaceful border.

Captain Nguyen Huu Tho, Deputy Political Commissar of Sin Suoi Ho Border Guard Station, shared: The entire unit identifies helping people as an important political task and needs to be carried out in parallel with the task of managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security. Therefore, in recent years, the unit has regularly organized activities to help people such as: effectively maintaining the goat breeding model in Sang Ma Pho village and models to help people develop socio-economics; sending officers and soldiers (CBCS) directly to help people harvest rice and instruct them on how to choose plants and breeds suitable for climate and soil conditions for cultivation and livestock, gradually improving economic efficiency and generating income; mobilizing CBCCS to help people build new rural areas, build houses, and repair schools. Notably, last July, after receiving information that there were households in Can Cau village living in an area at risk of landslides, the unit sent officers to help people relocate their houses, avoid areas at risk of landslides, and ensure the safety of people and property.

Since the beginning of 2023, Sin Suoi Ho Border Guard Station has mobilized officers and soldiers to build 16 new houses for people and 1 kindergarten in Chang Phang village with 150 working days. Coordinated with schools and localities to provide funding, purchase equipment and school supplies for 30 students in the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school"; supported 5 students in the program "Help children go to school - Adopted children of the Border Guard Station" with an amount of 500,000 VND/child/month and 2 "Adopted children of the Border Guard Station", and encouraged 4 students who dropped out of school to return to school.

The unit also coordinated to organize medical examinations and treatment, and provided free medicine to 30 people, worth 1.5 million VND; coordinated to organize gratitude activities, visit and give gifts to 15 policy families, each gift worth 500,000 VND. Combined with organizing "Zero-VND stalls", making banh chung; helping people harvest rice... The unit also had 3 cadres participating in the Party Committees of 3 border communes, with the positions of Secretary and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, directly participating in consolidating the grassroots political system in the border communes; introduced 11 party members to participate in activities at the Party cells of 11 villages; assigned 27 party members to be in charge of 176 households.

The team of commune-level cadres and party members participating in activities at the village party cells have promoted a sense of responsibility, actively advised the local Party Committee and authorities to maintain and improve the quality of life, study, work and in implementing the economic development policies of the Party, State and locality. At the same time, coordinate with the Party Committees and authorities of the 3 communes in the area where the unit is based to propagate, disseminate and educate the law; participate in activities of the village, association and party cell. Through propaganda and activities, the Border Guard officers listen to the difficulties and hardships in life, the thoughts and aspirations of the people, and from there propose to the competent authorities to resolve the legitimate aspirations of the people.

With the above practical activities, it has contributed to promptly resolving incidents occurring in the area. The political system of the 3 border communes under the management of Sin Suoi Ho Border Guard Station has been increasingly consolidated and improved, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, improving the material and spiritual life of the people. People increasingly trust and actively participate with the Border Guard in patrolling and protecting the border and providing important information in the fight against crime. In the first 7 months of 2023, 32 militia and people in the area coordinated with officers and soldiers of the border patrol unit; people voluntarily registered to participate in 22 groups/115 households to self-manage the border and boundary markers, and 40 groups to self-manage security and order in the villages.

Mr. Vang A Giang, Secretary of the Party Cell of Si Cha Chai village, Sin Suoi Ho commune, shared: Listening, understanding, being ready to share, helping people with practical and meaningful actions are what the villagers feel every time the soldiers in green uniforms come to the village. They do not hesitate to face difficulties to help people move houses, clear sewers, build houses, toilets or simply clean up village roads and alleys. Those actions are so simple but show the affection of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" to the people. The villagers really appreciate and thank the soldiers of Sin Suoi Ho Border Guard Station, they have not hesitated to face difficulties and hardships to protect the border and protect the people."
