Thai Nguyen province promotes investment and trade in Cuba, the United States

In order to strengthen international cooperation, promote investment and trade, attract resources for socio -economic development, Thai Nguyen province has established a working delegation to visit and promote investment and trade in Cuba and the United States. The delegation is led by comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. The delegation includes comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches, units; representatives of a number of enterprises investing in Thai Nguyen province.

According to the plan, from November 8 to 16, the delegation will have a number of main activities, such as: participating in the Vietnam - Cuba Business Forum; meeting and exchanging investment cooperation opportunities with Cuban Minister of Transport Eduardo Rodriguez, President of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce Antonio Luis Carricarte, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Thanh Tung and Cuban businesses; paying a courtesy call and meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuba Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz; visiting and working at the Mariel Special Economic Development Zone; surveying tourism management and development methods in the city of Mantanzas; participating in the Vietnam - US Business Meeting Workshop; working with the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce (USA); attending a business networking event within the framework of the 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week (to be held in San Francisco, USA)...

Immediately after arriving in the capital of Havana (Cuba), on November 8, the delegation of Thai Nguyen province met and discussed investment cooperation opportunities with Cuban Minister of Transport Eduardo Rodriguez, President of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce Antonio Luis Carricarte, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Thanh Tung; attended the Vietnam - Cuba Business Forum and visited the 39th Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2023).

At the meetings and exchanges, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Viet Hung expressed his joy at the warm welcome from the host country; openly discussed investment cooperation opportunities of Cuban enterprises in Thai Nguyen and of enterprises in Thai Nguyen province in Cuba.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his hope that Cuban Minister of Transport Eduardo Rodriguez, President of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce Antonio Luis Carricarte, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Thanh Tung would always pay attention, help, and create a bridge so that cooperation opportunities between the two sides become reality, bringing practical values, contributing to the development of Thai Nguyen province in particular and Vietnam - Cuba in general. Thereby, contributing to tightening the good traditional relationship between the two Parties, the two States and the people of Vietnam - Cuba.

At the Vietnam - Cuba Business Forum, the Organizing Committee has allocated a lot of time for the delegations of Thai Nguyen and Long An provinces to introduce investment cooperation opportunities in the locality. Accordingly, Thai Nguyen province hopes that Cuban enterprises will study and invest in a number of areas: Business in infrastructure of industrial parks and industrial clusters; tourism infrastructure, trade - services; green and smart urban development, etc.

The list of priority projects calling for investment in Thai Nguyen province includes 64 projects, including: 7 projects in industrial park infrastructure and information technology; 36 projects in industrial clusters; 17 projects in agriculture; and 4 projects in the environment.

Speaking at the Vietnam - Cuba Business Forum, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Viet Hung affirmed: With the available potential, advantages and strong commitments of Thai Nguyen province, he believes that Cuban investors will feel secure when implementing projects in the province. He also expressed his wish to continue receiving support and connections from the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam and the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba so that Thai Nguyen province will have more opportunities to cooperate with foreign investors, especially attracting projects of investors from Cuba to the province, contributing to building Thai Nguyen province to be increasingly prosperous and develop sustainably...
