The romantic collection was bold and daring, revealing a rhinestone and pearl-encrusted collaboration with Crocs on the runway.
Irish designer Simone Rocha is a fixture on the London Fashion Week calendar, stealing our hearts, eyes, and souls with her romantic, shadowy collections. For Fall/Winter 2023, Rocha built her own dollhouse inside London's Methodist Central Hall and made the trip to the English National Ballet for Spring/Summer 2024.
The surprisingly small venue is painted in dark tones, with a white structure in the shape of female figures standing in the centre of the room. Deep-toned instruments that pay homage to the historic ballet school fill the air, captivating the senses with high-pitched, unsettling and dramatic vocals. The collection is a declaration of overwhelming love, balancing tension and release through theatrical motifs.
Affectionate florals graced the look, with the first look tinged with delicate pink. A nylon two-piece featured a rose swirled at the chest while coordinating ribbons dangled to the floor. Translucent versions were separated by real flowers glued inside, transforming into fitted, pocketed tracksuits . Exaggerated ribbons were tied to formal shirts and knee-length skirts for a celebratory feel, followed by the designer’s pearl-embellished suit and lace-trimmed motorcycle jacket.
Simone Rocha debuted her first collaboration with Crocs on the runway, adorning perforated sporty silhouettes with sparkling diamonds and oversized pearls.
