Organizing the contest "Drug-free school 2025"

On October 17, at Thuy Loi University, the Department of Investigation Police on Drug-related Crimes ( Ministry of Public Security ) coordinated with the Department of Students (Ministry of Education and Training), the Subject and Science Department (Vietnam Television) to organize the contest "Drug-free School" in 2025.

The "Drug-Free School" contest is organized in the form of a television game show, with sections on who I am, knowledge, eloquence (for high school students)/presentation of drug prevention and control projects for the community (for university students) and a talent contest.

Colonel Nguyen Duc Tuan, Deputy Director of the Drug Crime Investigation Department, awarded prizes to the teams participating in the competition.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Colonel Nguyen Duc Tuan, Deputy Director of the Drug Crime Investigation Department, said that drugs are a global threat, destroying people's physical and mental health, causing many consequences, reducing labor productivity, and destroying people's intelligence. In Vietnam, the situation of drug crimes and abuse is still complicated and unpredictable. Particularly worrying is the increasing trend of drug use and crime among teenagers.

The contest received a lot of participation from students.

Deputy Director of the Drug Crime Investigation Department Nguyen Duc Tuan emphasized that youth is an age full of energy, loves to explore , but is also easily influenced and enticed. Drug criminals always target them, because with just a little curiosity, a lack of understanding, they can become addicts, even drug criminals. Therefore, raising awareness and equipping students with skills to prevent drugs is a particularly important task, not only for the police, but also with the participation of the whole family, school, society and each of us.

The "Drug-Free School" contest is not only a place for students to supplement their knowledge, but also to demonstrate their responsibility to society, to their own future, and to the future owners of the country. Students are always ambassadors for drug prevention, spreading the message of "For a drug-free community" to friends, family and the surrounding community.

Colonel Nguyen Duc Tuan hopes that through the contest, each student will become a propagandist, a soldier on the front line of drug prevention and control. With that belief, certainly, a drug-free educational environment, a drug-free society is our not-too-distant future.

The "Drug-Free School" contest in 2025 was held in 12 provinces and cities with the participation of 60 high schools and 30 universities and colleges nationwide.

Implementing the coordination program between the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education and Training on strengthening propaganda and dissemination of legal education on drug prevention and control in educational institutions for the period 2024-2030; The Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education and Training issued a Plan to assign the Department of Investigation Police on Drug-related Crimes and the Department of Students to organize the contest "Drug-Free School".

The contest was recorded and broadcast on VTV2, VTV7 and posted on digital platforms. The contest will be a playground to bring knowledge about drug prevention and control closer to students, so that each young person can understand, know and proactively prevent, becoming a "shield" to protect themselves, their friends and the community.
