Photo 'Under the shadow of the national flag' won first prize in the photo contest "The Fatherland on the shore"

The single photo "Under the shadow of the national flag" by Nguyen Viet Hoang Long and the photo series "Bustling anchovy season" by Nguyen Khac Hao were awarded first prize in the photo contest "Fatherland on the shore of the waves".

The award ceremony of the third national art photography contest "Fatherland on the Shore" 2025 took place in Hanoi .

The program is chaired by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, in coordination with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security , the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and relevant agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission affirmed that the contest was organized in the context of the entire Party, people and army strongly promoting patriotism, national pride and aspiration to develop the country, towards the 14th National Party Congress, election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

According to the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, after three times of organization, the contest has created a strong impression and widespread influence, becoming an effective method in information and propaganda work about seas, islands and international integration.

He emphasized that to continue improving the effectiveness of propaganda, it is necessary to deeply and comprehensively understand the Party and State's policies and guidelines on seas and islands; innovate the content and methods of information and foreign propaganda; promote digital transformation; and at the same time, focus on improving the quality of the team doing propaganda work on seas and islands.

At the ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia, General Trinh Van Quyet - Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and other leaders presented logos, medals and certificates to the winning authors. The Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission also presented Certificates of Merit to 8 provinces and cities with outstanding achievements in coordinating the implementation of the contest.

Mr. Pham Tat Thang - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, and Ms. Ha Thi Nga, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, presented awards to the second prize winners.

Launched from March to July 2025, the national art photography contest "Fatherland by the Waves" attracted 15,770 works by 3,514 authors from 34 provinces and cities across the country. Not only did the quantity increase, the quality of this year's works was also assessed to have made a significant step forward. Through elaborate selection rounds, the Jury selected 150 outstanding works to be introduced at the Exhibition, of which 22 best works were awarded prizes.

The two first prizes of the contest belonged to the single photo work Under the shadow of the national flag by author Nguyen Viet Hoang Long (Quang Ninh) and the photo collection Bustling anchovy season by author Nguyen Khac Hao (Hung Yen).

Based on the results of this year's contest, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to compile bilingual photo books, electronic photo books, virtual reality exhibitions and organize a series of photo exhibitions in many localities, contributing to spreading patriotism and awareness of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
