T hon Luot, Bao Thang commune used to be likened to an oasis, but since connecting roads were invested in here, this area has become bustling and people's lives have improved.
Mr. Tran Van Chinh's family's nearly 5-hectare cinnamon hill has entered its 6th year, and can prune branches and leaves to sell to essential oil processing facilities.

Thanks to convenient transportation, the purchase price is also higher. "In the past, the road was difficult, the transportation fee was high, so traders deducted it from the purchase price, causing many disadvantages for people" - Mr. Chinh shared.

Mr. Phan Huy Quang, a specialist in purchasing planted forest wood to supply paper factories, said: The roads connecting from national highways and provincial roads to the village have been invested in and expanded, so tractors can go to the foot of the hill to buy for people, contributing to reducing intermediaries and increasing product value for people.
Luot village is one of the most difficult villages of Thai Nien commune (old). Although not too far from the commune center, this area was previously very difficult to access due to traffic obstacles.

Especially in the rainy season, the dirt roads are muddy and cars cannot enter, making the transportation of agricultural and forestry products extremely difficult.
From the policy of identifying traffic infrastructure as a breakthrough of the province, many key traffic routes have been invested, including the road connecting Lang Giang bridge - National Highway 70 passing through Luot village which has just been completed, opening up many economic development opportunities for the people here.

This vital route not only conveniently connects Luot village with neighboring villages but also shortens the time from here to Lao Cai ward.
One of the most noticeable differences is that since the road was put into use, tractor trucks can reach the foot of the hill to purchase wood from the production forests.
Mr. Do Ngoc Son - Vice Chairman of Bao Thang Commune People's Committee said: Previously, from the people's gardens and hills, they had to be transported by small trucks, which increased costs. Now, it only takes a few hours for the harvested wood to be transported to the processing facility.

This not only increases direct income for people but also encourages people to invest in expanding the area of planted forests.
The new roads also help vegetables, fruits, and crops to be delivered to wholesale markets in Lao Cai and Cam Duong wards faster.
Thanks to that, the area of agricultural production has been expanded, and Luot village has gradually become one of the large vegetable and flower growing areas of Bao Thang commune.

Mr. Do Ngoc Son - Vice Chairman of Bao Thang Commune People's Committee shared more: The newly invested roads passing through Luot village have opened the door to escape poverty for the people.
From the main traffic axis invested by the province, the commune will plan suitable production areas and residential areas to promote the economy of the whole region.
