On October 22, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City deployed STEM education activities to more than 700 high schools in 168 wards, communes, and special zones from the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires general education institutions to implement STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) educational activities in accordance with the current educational program objectives, creating interest and motivation for students to learn.

Teaching topics are designed according to the STEM education orientation, focusing on the integration of knowledge between subjects to solve real-life problems. Focus on activities that allow students to apply knowledge to solve problems, propose solutions, design, test and edit instead of memorizing.

Organize diverse activities that engage students such as STEM clubs and extracurricular activities. Have a plan to closely connect with parents and the community to create consensus and effective support for STEM activities.

Increase socialization of investment in appropriate facilities and equipment, from simple materials to modern equipment to effectively implement STEM projects and access new technologies.

At the same time, the Department of Education and Training also proposed forms of organizing STEM teaching such as: Implementing STEM-oriented teaching in all subjects, closely following the content of the curriculum framework of the subjects to implement the General Education Program according to the prescribed duration of the subjects in the program.

Guide students to actively research STEM learning resources to acquire and apply knowledge through activities such as: choosing solutions to solve problems; practicing design, manufacturing, testing designs; sharing, discussing, perfecting or adjusting designs under the guidance of teachers.

Schools can also organize through clubs or practical experience activities carried out voluntarily according to students' interests, talents and choices. Schools can organize STEM experience spaces in schools, STEM classrooms, modern experimental practice centers, virtual experiments, simulations, and learning software for students to learn and explore experiments and applications of science and technology in real life.

Organized according to the school's annual education plan; the experience content is designed into specific lessons, clearly describing the purpose, requirements, experience process and expected results. Strengthening the socialization of education to effectively organize STEM experience activities in accordance with current regulations.

The school organizes for teachers to guide students in carrying out scientific and technical research topics or projects. Through the process of organizing STEM lessons and STEM experiential activities, talented students are discovered to be nurtured and facilitated to participate in scientific and technical research.

In addition, teachers can also organize STEM-oriented educational activities so that students can have information and learn about future careers.
