Also present to receive the delegation were: Tran Van Bay, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Doan Van Dong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and Nguyen Khanh Toan, Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion of Ho Chi Minh City.
During the New Year's visit, Bishop Joseph Nguyen Tan Tuoc, Bishop of the Phu Cuong Diocese, extended New Year greetings to the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City; wishing them good health, joy, and energy to successfully fulfill their duties; and wishing Ho Chi Minh City continued positive results and sustainable development in the coming year.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere leading up to the New Year, Comrade Van Thi Bach Tuyet respectfully thanked Bishop Joseph Nguyen Tan Tuoc and his delegation for visiting and extending New Year greetings to the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
He shared that 2025 holds many important milestones, including the merger of three localities, which has created conditions for the relationship between the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the People's Committee, and the city's departments and agencies with the Phu Cuong Diocese to become closer, more cohesive, and more closely coordinated.
Comrade Van Thi Bach Tuyet informed that the First Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the 14th National Congress of the Party were successfully held, defining many new directions for the development of Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City focused on resolving outstanding issues that directly affect people's lives, such as flooding, traffic congestion, environmental pollution, and especially the goal of building a drug-free city.

Comrade Van Thi Bach Tuyet acknowledged that, in recent times, the dioceses and parishioners in Ho Chi Minh City in general, and the Phu Cuong Diocese in particular, have complied well with legal regulations and actively responded to local movements and campaigns such as building cultured families, promoting cultural life in residential areas, and protecting the environment... thereby making a positive contribution to building and strengthening national unity.
The comrade expressed his hope that in the coming time, the Phu Cuong Diocese will continue to work alongside the City by mobilizing parishioners to participate in activities to build a better living environment, especially in drug prevention and control in residential areas; and to join hands to ensure that areas with a large Catholic population achieve higher effectiveness in maintaining security and order and ensuring social welfare.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse), on behalf of the City Party Committee leadership, Comrade Van Thi Bach Tuyet extended best wishes to Bishop Joseph Nguyen Tan Tuoc, the priests, and all parishioners of the Phu Cuong Diocese for a healthy, happy new year, many new achievements, and always full of energy to serve the community.
