He attended the 2023 Oscar pre-party but did not attend the awards ceremony.

A source told the Daily Mail that Tom Cruise did not attend the 2023 Oscars because he was afraid of running into his ex-wife, actress Nicole Kidman - who is known as "Australia's Swan". The two divorced more than 20 years ago and now Tom Cruise is 60 years old, Nicole Kidman is also 55 years old.

"Tom Cruise didn't come because Nicole Kidman was there and he didn't want to see her," the source revealed. This information had not been out for long when sources close to Tom Cruise spoke out to deny it, saying that the actor did not attend the Oscars only because of his busy work schedule, not because of "personal" matters.

The New York Post has contacted both Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman but neither has responded.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman married in 1990 and divorced in 2001, and have two adopted children together, Jane Cruise and Connor Antony.
