"History of Rock": When Rock and Philosophy Meet in Heritage

With 17 new songs, the album is the result of collaboration between the author and young artists within the framework of the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Night Tour, aiming to honor traditional heritage and culture with modern musical language.

The famous stone history was released on the author's birthday. Unlike the album vol.1 with its rustic folk colors, vol.2 shows a clear change in style when combining elements such as rock, world music, electronic with traditional folk instruments. The compositions focus on the themes of history, morality, studiousness and national spirit.

Among the new songs, 4 works were performed live at Ho Van stage, in the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic site, including: Legend of the Trung Sisters , Quoc Tu Giam - Light of Knowledge , Vietnam Ho Chi Minh and Unique . The songs were arranged in rock style, performed by the band Am Dau.

The performance space at Thuy Dinh - Ho Van stage was chosen as the highlight of the program. Under the light rain of early summer, the audience watched the program not only with the feeling of enjoying the music, but also as a cultural experience taking place in a space associated with the historyof education and academia.

Dr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, commented: "Ho Van is a place that records poetry and literary discussions of ancient intellectuals and Confucian scholars determined to cultivate themselves. This is a very poetic and symbolic space."

Dr. Le Xuan Kieu said that the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam recognized the artist's personal efforts in finding ways to connect traditional elements and contemporary art.

"On her artistic journey, Dinh Khanh Ly has a strong love for heritage, combining poetry, images and music into an inspiring contemporary art form," he said.

Along with the musical performance, the event also featured calligraphy and folk painting by artisans, adding aesthetic depth. Some artisans such as calligrapher Moc Duc participated in live performances, contributing to the overall multimedia combination of the event.

Musician Dinh Khanh Ly said that this project was conceived as a way to look back on her more than 20-year artistic journey. "This is the first time I feel like I can live fully with music and culture, in the space of the values ​​that I respect," she said.

The musician shared that she and her team also had difficulty conveying the depth of culture and history without losing the artistry and emotion. Because ancient materials can be difficult to approach for young people, but too much innovation can easily stray from the original spirit.

Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thi Bich Hong, former Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Arts, assessed that bringing folk cultural materials into modern life through new forms of music is a noteworthy direction.

The album "Stone History" is part of the performing arts activities at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam this year. The project aims to exploit the heritage space to serve educational purposes, enhancing cultural experiences for the public, especially young people.

According to the Center's representative, regular performance programs will continue to be held in the coming time with the participation of many artists pursuing an artistic approach associated with traditional values.
