Leaders of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee visited and paid tribute to outstanding artists

The delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, led by Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Standing Committee Member, Head of the Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, visited, presented gifts and expressed gratitude to three artists: People's Artist Kim Cuong, photographer Nguyen Huu Loc and musician Tran Xuan Tien.

This is one of 8 delegations representing the leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to visit and encourage outstanding artists, artists in difficult circumstances, and groups and individuals who have performed well in cultural and artistic activities in Ho Chi Minh City.

The three artists visited by the delegation are "big trees" in the Ho Chi Minh City art scene, not only having a long and persistent career but also leaving a deep impression on the public with their artistic contributions rich in humanity.

At the private residence of People's Artist Kim Cuong - a symbol of the Southern stage and a pioneer artist involved in charity work after 1975 - Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed: "People's Artist Kim Cuong is not only a great talent of the stage but also a moral example and a beautiful personality of a revolutionary artist. The city deeply respects and is grateful for the tireless contributions of artist Kim Cuong to the community and to the country's art".

Regarding photographer Nguyen Huu Loc, author of many works capturing everyday moments with cultural depth, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong noted: "The images of photographer Nguyen Huu Loc are works of art imbued with humanity, contributing to preserving the urban soul of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City".

On this occasion, Mr. Doan Hoai Trung, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association, also presented the Association's 50th anniversary project to photographer Nguyen Huu Loc. This is the project "Ho Chi Minh City - 50 years of proud heroic epic" - a photo book project gathering many valuable works, reflecting the process of building and developing the city over the past 50 years, produced by the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

As for musician Tran Xuan Tien, who has made many contributions to traditional and revolutionary music , Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong shared that the melodies of musician Tran Xuan Tien have become part of the musical memories of many generations. "The public always expects today's generation of musicians to learn the spirit of serious and responsible artistic work that musician Tran Xuan Tien has shown over the past decades with the cultural and artistic activities of the country and of Ho Chi Minh City" - Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong emphasized.

The artists all expressed their deep emotion and gratitude for the practical and meaningful care of the City leaders. People's Artist Kim Cuong was moved: "Receiving the respectful affection from the City leaders makes me very happy. That is the motivation for artists like me to continue living, creating and passing on that flame to the younger generation."

Photographer Nguyen Huu Loc said: "Today, being visited by the leadership of the City's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department is a great honor, and also inspires me to continue holding the camera to create valuable works."

Musician Tran Xuan Tien could not hide his emotion: "Thank you for the attention of the City leaders to artists. This attention and encouragement will positively contribute to artists continuing to create and be a solid foundation for the young generation of artists to follow and join hands to contribute to our beloved Ho Chi Minh City."

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee acknowledged: "Artists are a precious spiritual asset of Ho Chi Minh City, literature and art are an indispensable part of the spiritual life of the people and the development of Ho Chi Minh City. Over the past 50 years, artists have been the ones who preserve memories, ignite passion and create a unique cultural appearance for Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City leaders acknowledge, respect and are grateful for the great, silent and persistent contributions of artists. Ho Chi Minh City always sets the goal of developing culture on par with socio -economic development. In addition to supporting policies and mechanisms, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to implement practical activities to care for the material and spiritual life of artists".
