This award is organized by CEIPA (Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association) in cooperation with prestigious music awards from 6 countries in Asia. MAJ honors songs and artists who have won the Best Song Award or equivalent major award in their country.
The person presenting the award to Tung Duong was Mr. Shunichi Tokura - composer and Commissioner of the Ministry of Culture of Japan. Mr. Tokura emphasized that the award is in line with the goal of bringing Asian culture, art and music to the world stage. MAJ 2025 has collaborated with 6 countries in the region to honor influential artists in the international category.
Appearing at the award ceremony in a traditional ao dai, Tung Duong emotionally shared: "I am very honored to be standing here. It is the music that brings us together at tonight's ceremony.
Throughout my 20+ year career, I have used music to share my spirit and ideology. I would like to thank MAJ for recognizing my music.
I am very proud to be the first Vietnamese artist to receive this great award. My gratitude also goes to my family, my wife and children, my crew and all my fans. Today is also a new beginning for my music career."
At the end of his speech, Tung Duong suddenly sang the chorus of the song " A Round of Vietnam" (composed by Dong Thien Duc). The short but emotional performance received a long round of applause from the audience.
Choosing a song with contemporary folk melodies to end his sharing is not only a rich highlight, but also shows the spirit of national pride in his music.

"I have learned firsthand the good things in careful organization, meticulous attention to detail, and full of identity - something very special from the Japanese. This award is a source of positive energy for me to have more materials for music, from which I can have more quality products to serve the domestic audience," he said.
The Japan Music Awards are organized and operated by the Culture & Entertainment Industries Promotion Association (CEIPA) of Japan.
The award jury consists of more than 5,000 music industry experts, including artists, producers, record label employees, critics, journalists, publishers, and international judges.
The International Special Awards is a category that aims to promote musical connections between Japan and Asian countries.
The category was established through a collaboration between CEIPA and music award organizations from six countries: Vietnam, China, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
