Comrade Tran Duc Luong was born and raised in his hometown Quang Ngai, a land rich in revolutionary traditions. He held many important positions in the Party and State, and no matter what position he held, he always upheld his pioneering and exemplary character, demonstrating his dedication, thinking and strategic vision.

In particular, asPresident , he gave many important speeches at domestic and international forums, profound articles expressing the determination of the Party and State, the people's aspirations to innovate and build the country towards industrialization and modernization, for the goal of a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.

To help cadres, party members and people better understand the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, especially to see the contributions of comrade Tran Duc Luong during his two terms as President, the Office of the President coordinated with the National Political Publishing House Truth to publish the book series "Tran Duc Luong Selected Works", May 2021.

The book series consists of 3 volumes. Volume I consists of 2 parts: "Innovation - The right choice for the goal of modern development of Vietnam" and "Great national unity to build and protect the Fatherland". Volume 2 consists of 2 parts: "Economic - cultural - social development" and "Security - national defense". The 3 parts of volume III include: "Foreign affairs and international integration", "Domestic affairs and building a rule-of-law state" and "Letters, memoirs". According to the National Political Publishing House Truth, the book series systematically collects speeches and articles... full of passion, intelligence, theory, practical experience, rich in creative and innovative ideas, expressing President Tran Duc Luong's love and attachment to the Party, and his closeness to the interests of the people and the country.

Another book is “Aspiration to Revive the Country - About the Visits and Work of Former President Tran Duc Luong” published by the Truth National Political Publishing House in 2007, on the occasion of his 70th birthday, with the help and collaboration of the Office of the President. The book is a collection of articles and reports by reporters from several central radio stations and newspapers who closely followed and promptly reflected the activities of former President Tran Duc Luong at home and abroad during his two terms as President.

The book consists of 3 parts: "The Central Highlands on the threshold of the new spring, reflecting the visits and work of the former President to localities", "The aspiration to revive the country, reflecting the visits and work of the former President to ministries, branches and central agencies" and "Exploiting new opportunities for mutual development, reflecting the visits and work of the former President abroad". According to the National Political Publishing House Truth, the selected articles in this book only reflect a few of the many working trips of former President Tran Duc Luong. The book depicts him with a dynamic style, a scientific, meticulous and in-depth working style, especially his concern for compatriots and soldiers in remote areas, border and island areas, and his warm feelings for children and disadvantaged people, demonstrating the heart of a high-ranking leader of the Party and State towards comrades and compatriots. At the same time, it also clearly shows his dedication to the prosperity of the country and people.
