The Wall celebrates its 30th anniversary with a European tour

The tour is scheduled to take place next June, with 3 stops in France, Germany and the Czech Republic.

Not only is this European tour a milestone to honor the 30-year journey of the most influential rock band in Vietnam, it is also a testament to the enduring creativity and spirit of constant innovation of The Wall.

Founded in 1995, Bức Tường is considered one of the pioneering rock bands in Vietnam. During 30 years of operation, the group has released 7 studio albums and organized many large-scale live shows.

Songs such as: Soul of Rock , Road to Glory , Black Eyes , Blue Rose ... have become symbols not only for rock lovers but also for the general public.

The We Are The Wall - 30 years of The Wall in Vietnam program was held in March, with 2 shows in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, attracting more than 2,000 audiences each night. All tickets were sold out before the show, proving the band's enduring appeal despite many personnel changes.

Sharing about the tour in Europe, Group Leader Tran Tuan Hung said: "This is the second time The Wall has performed in Europe, the first time was in France in 2003.

After two international tours last year in Japan (June 2024) and India (November 2024), we are eager to continue our journey of bringing Vietnamese music , the Vietnamese rock spirit and the band's 30-year story closer to the overseas Vietnamese community and international audiences.

We hope that when familiar melodies resound in Europe, music lovers will feel more clearly the love for their homeland and music, and see that Vietnamese music always has a worthy position on the world map."

Meanwhile, guitarist Vu Ha said that over the years, many fans of the band in European countries have expressed their desire for Buc Tuong to have shows there.

"We are actively practicing to bring an attractive and passionate music program, responding to the affection that audiences in these countries have for the band," he confided.

Besides the 4 main members: Tran Tuan Hung (guitar/leader), Vu Van Ha (guitar), Tang Xuan Kien (bass), Pham Trung Hieu (drums), the program also has the participation of 2 guest singers: Pham Anh Khoa and Duong Tran Nghia - familiar faces who have collaborated many times with Buc Tuong.

The program content is designed according to the flow of time. Besides the hits associated with the band's name, the group will perform many new compositions that have been well received by the audience recently such as: October , Summer Passes , Blue Rose ... The songs are renewed in arrangement, keeping the traditional rock spirit but with a more youthful color.

According to the band, this European tour also has a lot of emotional value, especially for the members who set foot in France in 2003.

After the debut album Soul of Stone , the album vol.2 released in 2003 with the sound of the moon lute created a stepping stone for the performance in the city of Cahors, Southern France.

Here, they met prominent artists such as Nguyen Le, Nguyen Cuong, Siu Black, Dong Quang Vinh and the Little Wings group.

The band member said: "The most memorable memory was the main show night, when The Wall was warmly welcomed by the audience, including many international students from Paris and Toulouse who traveled a long way to cheer us on. Some people couldn't find a hotel so they stayed overnight right in the central square. That feeling will stay with us forever."

After the show, the group presented the lute to the mayor of the city - a symbolic act of culture and gratitude. And after 22 years, the question: "When will you return to France?" has been answered.

Before the European tour, Buc Tuong recently held a fan meeting event called "Gach noi tam hon" in Hanoi, and introduced headphones called "Gach" - named after the band's fan community.

The product has a brick-shaped design, integrated active noise cancellation (ANC) technology and printed with the 30-year Wall logo.

Previously, the band was ranked number 1 by MTV Vietnam in the list of top 10 famous Vietnamese Rock bands.
