Lifeline to flood-hit Nghe An landslide, rescue facing difficulties

On the morning of July 29, more than 3,000 officers, soldiers and militiamen from units of Military Region 4 continued to be present in 29 communes heavily affected in Western Nghe An, such as: Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Muong Xen... to help people overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

The armed forces focused on clearing the thick mud on roads and residential areas, repairing and restoring infrastructure, and cleaning houses for people - especially policy households and poor households. Essential works such as schools, medical stations, and markets were also supported by the army to restore people's lives to normal soon.

However, the relief work still faces many obstacles due to the heavy rain that has not stopped, and continued landslides on National Highway 7A - the main artery connecting Con Cuong town to Muong Xen commune, making it very difficult to mobilize forces and transport relief goods and supplies to the highland communes.

Faced with complicated weather developments, the Military Region 4 Command directed units to stay close to the base, maintain a state of readiness, and closely coordinate with localities to ensure effective response and overcoming the consequences of floods.
