At the meeting, Lao General Secretary andPresident Thongloun Sisoulith highly appreciated the role and importance of people-to-people diplomacy activities, as well as the results of cooperation between the two Front organizations and the two Friendship Associations in recent times; emphasized that the two sides need to continue to promote existing mechanisms, actively exchange information, share experiences, help and support each other for mutual development; and enhance people-to-people exchanges, especially between the young generations of the two countries.

On behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman Do Van Chien congratulated Laos on its achievements, reflected in its socio-political stability, guaranteed national defense and security, economic development, and active foreign affairs.

Reporting to the General Secretary and President of Laos on the results of cooperation in recent times, Chairman Do Van Chien affirmed that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association will closely coordinate with Lao partners to effectively implement the Agreements between the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two countries, the Cooperation Agreements between the two Front organizations and the two Friendship Associations; enhance experience exchange, people-to-people exchanges, actively educate the people, especially the young generation, about the history of the traditional Vietnam - Laos relationship as well as raise awareness and responsibility of each individual in nurturing the special Vietnam - Laos relationship to develop and bear fruit.

On the same evening, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife hosted a solemn reception to welcome General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and his wife, along with the high-ranking delegation of the Lao Party and State.
