On the afternoon of August 26, General Secretary andPresident To Lam received Commander of the Korean Coast Guard Kim Jong Uk.

Also attending was Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai.
At the reception, the General Secretary and President expressed his pleasure to meet the Commander and Kim Jong Uk and his wife again on the occasion of their visit to Vietnam. The visit demonstrates the affection and friendship between Vietnam and Korea; and the affection between the Commander personally. Korea Coast Guard with the General Secretary and President.
On this occasion, through the Commander, the General Secretary and President sent thanks to President Yoon Suk-yeol of the Republic of Korea for his great contributions to the Vietnam-Korea relationship; and expressed his best feelings for Vietnam and the General Secretary and President personally. In particular, the President of the Republic of Korea expressed his deep condolences to the Party, State and people. Vietnam sent the Prime Minister to pay his respects and express condolences on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Affirming that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong paid great attention to building the Vietnam-Korea relationship during his lifetime, the General Secretary and President affirmed that Vietnam will continue to realize the achievements that the two countries have committed to, promoting the Vietnam-Korea relationship to develop more positively; bringing benefits to the people of the two countries and bringing benefits, peace and stability to the region and the world.

Emphasizing that the Vietnam-Korea relationship is developing better and better in all areas, with increased political trust, the General Secretary and President affirmed that Commander Kim Jong Uk's visit aims to implement the commitments signed between the Korean Coast Guard and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security; at the same time, it demonstrates the good relationship and the increasingly growing comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.
During the visit of the Coast Guard Commander, Korea will transfer vehicles and equipment according to the cooperation agreement; these are the best and most modern vehicles and equipment for the Vietnamese police; helping to develop the capacity of the Vietnamese police. The General Secretary and President also suggested that Korea, in addition to supporting equipment, continue to exchange experiences and conduct joint training.
The General Secretary and President also pointed out that there are many potential areas for further development of cooperation between the two countries as well as between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Korean Coast Guard. Therefore, he asked the Commander to continue to actively contribute to the relationship between the Vietnamese police and the Korean Coast Guard.

Commander of the Korean Coast Guard Kim Jong Uk thanked General Secretary and President To Lam for his good feelings towards the delegation; expressed his joy at the anniversary and shared efforts to sign and implement the agreement between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Korean Coast Guard.
Commander Kim Jong Uk affirmed Government of Korea committed to transferring vehicles and equipment to Vietnam and hoped that in the coming time, the relationship between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Korean Coast Guard would continue to develop; wished to continue receiving the attention and direction of the General Secretary and President for the two agencies of the two countries.
Commander Kim Jong Uk personally will make every effort to promote cooperation between the two countries as well as the relationship between the Korean Coast Guard and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.
