Many achievements in the fight against "internal enemies"

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's anti-corruption campaign is fully reflected in his work "Resolutely and Persistently Fighting Corruption and Negative Phenomena, Contributing to Building a Cleaner and Stronger Party and State" (National Political Publishing House, 2023). Through the articles printed in this work, the General Secretary systematically presented the urgent need to resolutely fight corruption and negative phenomena to build a cleaner and stronger Party and State in the current period.

Vietnam has achieved significant progress in the fight against corruption in recent years. The government and relevant agencies have implemented many strong and decisive measures to combat this "disease," contributing to building a fair, clean, and civilized society. Many major corruption cases have been uncovered and severely punished. Regulations on asset and income declaration have been tightened, creating favorable conditions for supervision. The legal system for preventing and combating corruption has been perfected and harmonized, creating a solid legal framework for the fight against corruption. Channels for receiving denunciations have been expanded, encouraging citizens to participate in reporting acts of corruption.

The General Secretary's guiding principle is that there are no forbidden zones, no exceptions; anyone who violates the law through corruption and negative practices must be brought to light. This spirit has made our anti-corruption efforts effective. We remember his sentiment: "I have said it many times: without ceasing, without rest, we must truly purify the Party and State apparatus, our entire political system, and our ranks. This is the decisive factor in all other work, enabling us to close loopholes and stop despicable and cowardly actions..."

The General Secretary focused on consolidating the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the political system. He implemented reforms to strengthen Party discipline and improve the efficiency of state agencies. It can be said that, under his leadership, the anti-corruption campaign was successfully implemented, policies were introduced to enhance transparency and accountability in state management, and public trust was restored.

In his eulogy for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President To Lam said: "Throughout his revolutionary life, the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system held a particularly important position for Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong. Creatively applying Ho Chi Minh's thought on Party building, Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong deeply clarified the nature of the Party and the building of a ruling Party based on the practical experience of Vietnam's reform. From there, he, together with the Central Committee, formulated and led the successful implementation of strategic policies on Party building and rectification; resolutely and persistently fighting individualism, ideological and moral degradation, and corruption and negative phenomena within the Party. This is an extremely arduous and difficult battle against 'internal enemies' that has made our Party increasingly clean and strong, affirming its pioneering role, courage, and wisdom, so that our Party truly 'is morality and civilization'."

There is no measure better than the people's will. The legacy left by the General Secretary is immense and of great importance to our country, especially in the current period. "Strengthening the fight against corruption and negative practices," "Those who dare not act should boldly step aside and let others do it"... these are statements by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and reality proves that he has left a profound mark on the fight against "internal enemies."

Based on the results of the fight against corruption and negative practices over the past 10 years, he always emphasized one of the valuable lessons to further strengthen the resolve and confidence of the entire political system. That is, there must be high determination, great effort, and the right methods; there can be no complacency or haste; there must be no avoidance, hesitation, or self-satisfaction; and at the same time, there must be great perseverance, without rest or respite.

We need to spread the "legacy of faith".

The General Secretary has made great efforts in building people's trust in the Party and the country's development. His role is crucial in the 21st century, with outstanding contributions in combating corruption, strengthening the political system, promoting international integration, and consolidating social trust. It can be said that his leadership has had a profound and powerful impact on the development and stability of our country, both now and in the future.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong once said: "Human happiness is not just about having a lot of money, possessions, good food, and beautiful clothes, but also about richness of soul, living amidst love and compassion, truth and justice."

The images of long lines of people queuing in the streets at night to pay their respects and bid farewell to the General Secretary show that he "forever belongs to the Fatherland and the people," and "the legacy of the General Secretary will live on in Vietnamese history," as stated in the eulogy read by President To Lam at the funeral ceremony.

He was a great cultural figure, leaving a profound impression of the character and essence of a noble cultural personality. These qualities were expressed simply and humbly in his words, gestures, ethics, and daily life. He once affirmed: “We need a society where development is truly for the benefit of humanity, not for profit that exploits and tramples on human dignity. We need economic development coupled with social progress and justice, not an increase in the gap between rich and poor and social inequality.”

He left behind a legacy for those who remain: faith in the Party's leadership, in the positive values of the regime, faith in the humanistic values of life, and faith in human honor. This legacy of faith needs to be spread among our people. Faith in the Party and the regime will bring strength to the entire nation in the struggle against poverty, against vices and evils, and towards a better, happier, and more prosperous society.
