The delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party's Central Committee's External Relations Commission, led by its Head, Comrade Sounthone Sayachac, is visiting and working in Vietnam.
On the afternoon of September 26, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received a delegation from the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission led by Comrade Sounthone Sayachac, member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central External Relations Commission, who visited and worked in Vietnam.

Comrade Sounthone Sayachac thanked the General Secretary for receiving and giving the delegation special affection; respectfully sent to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong the regards of General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith; congratulated the important achievements that Vietnam has gained after more than a year of implementing the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress and considered Vietnam's achievements a source of encouragement and motivation for Laos.
Comrade Sounthone Sayachac believed that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by the General Secretary, the Vietnamese people would continue to gain new and greater achievements in the renovation process; expressed his joy at the increasingly deep and extensive Laos-Vietnam solidarity in all fields; and deeply thanked Vietnam for the great support and assistance that Vietnam has given to Laos up to now.
Comrade Sounthone Sayachac also informed the General Secretary about the recent situation in Laos; the results of cooperation between the two Foreign Affairs Commissions in the past time and the results of the talks between the two Central Foreign Affairs Commissions of the two Parties.
He affirmed that the Central External Relations Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party will closely coordinate with the Central External Relations Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam to effectively implement the Agreements between the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and the Cooperation Agreement between the Central External Relations Commissions of the two Parties, including enhancing the exchange of information and working experience, coordinating to urge, guide and inspect sectors and levels in implementing the High-level Agreement, contributing to fostering the special solidarity relationship between Laos and Vietnam to new heights.

Talks between the two sides.General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed Comrade Sounthone Sayachac and the delegation to visit and work in Vietnam; highly appreciated the significance of the visit at a time when the two countries have been organizing activities to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty; and congratulated Laos on the important achievements it has made after more than a year of implementing the Resolution of the 10th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong believes that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Lao people will successfully implement the Resolution of the 10th National Party Congress. The General Secretary emphasized the importance of the special Vietnam-Laos solidarity relationship for the stability and development of the two countries; thanked Laos for its support and assistance to Vietnam up to now; affirmed that Vietnam will do its utmost, together with Laos, to preserve and foster the special Vietnam-Laos solidarity relationship to develop more deeply, practically and effectively in all fields, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
The General Secretary highly appreciated the results of the talks as well as the cooperation between the two External Relations Commissions; highly appreciated the positive contributions of the two Commissions in promoting comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; especially in 2017, the two Commissions coordinated with relevant agencies of the two countries to well organize activities in the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year with many practical, rich and diverse contents; hoped that the two Central External Relations Commissions would continue to closely coordinate, increase the exchange of information, experience, cooperation, mutual assistance, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the Congress of each Party.
The General Secretary informed the delegation about the situation in Vietnam and respectfully sent his regards and best wishes to General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith and senior leaders of the Lao Party and State.
On the same day, in Hanoi, the delegation of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission led by Comrade Hoang Binh Quan, member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission, held talks with the delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission led by Comrade Sounthone Sayachac, member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission.
At the talks, the two sides informed each other about the situation of each Party and each country; discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern; made a preliminary assessment of the situation and results of the implementation of the High-level Agreements of the two Parties, two countries and of the two Committees; and discussed specific measures to implement the agreements between the high-level leaders of the two Parties and two countries, contributing to deepening the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos into greater depth, effectiveness and practicality.
On this occasion, authorized by the Leaders of the Lao Party and State, Comrade Sounthone Sayachac awarded the Second and Third Class Itxala (Freedom) Medals, the Friendship Medals, and the Friendship Medals to the collective and officials of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission of our Party for their achievements in building and strengthening the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
Within the framework of the visit, working, exchanging and friendly exchanges, the two sides will have an exchange to learn about the actual situation in Da Nang City, present gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of martyrs and wounded soldiers; pay tribute to heroic martyrs at Road 9 Cemetery; and visit a number of economic and cultural establishments in Da Nang City./.
