Summary of phase 2 of the project to enhance Vietnamese language for ethnic minority children

On the morning of June 11, at the Khanh Hoa Province Continuing Education Center, the Department of Education and Training held a conference to summarize 5 years of implementing phase 2 of the Project "Strengthening Vietnamese language preparation for preschool children and primary school students in ethnic minority areas in the period 2016 - 2020, with a vision to 2025 based on the children's mother tongue" in the province.

Mr. Do Huu Quynh - Deputy Director of the Departmentof Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to the groups.

Currently, the province has 36/132 communes, wards and towns of 6 districts, towns and cities in ethnic minority areas. Of these, there are 36 kindergartens and 105 primary schools implementing Vietnamese language enhancement for children. In recent times, schools have supplemented learning materials, equipment, utensils, toys, built environments for children to learn Vietnamese, organized playgrounds for exchange, etc. Management staff and teachers have been trained and fostered to improve their capacity in teaching Vietnamese language enhancement. Up to now, the Vietnamese proficiency of preschool children and primary school students of ethnic minorities has improved significantly; they are more confident in communication and learning, contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive education. At the end of the 2024 - 2025 school year, the rate of first graders of ethnic minorities completing the Vietnamese language program is 97.6%.

Mr. Ha Van Thong - Head of Preschool Education - General Education Department of the Department of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to individuals.

On this occasion, the Department of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to 9 groups and 17 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing phase 2 of the project.
