US President Joe Biden mocked billionaire Elon Musk for criticizing illegal immigrants, while there is information that he used to 'work illegally' when he first came to the US.
“The richest man in the world turned out to be an illegal worker when he first came to America,” President Biden said at a campaign rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 26, referring to billionaire Elon Musk.
“He was supposed to go to school because he came to the United States on a student visa. He didn’t go to school and broke the law. Now he’s standing here talking about people who are in the United States illegally,” CNBC quoted Mr. Biden as saying.

The development came after The Washington Post published an article on October 26 citing letters, legal documents and multiple sources that allegedly helped Mr. Musk obtain a work visa in 1996, while he had previously done business in the US.
Elon Musk came to the United States with the intention of attending graduate school at Stanford University in the early 1990s. He did not enroll in that program, but instead started a venture-backed startup called Zip2.
The Washington Post reported that Zip2 investors were worried about the founder being deported and set a deadline for Musk to obtain a work visa. Zip2 was later sold for about $300 million in 1999, giving Musk the capital to invest and become chairman of Tesla, which later launched other famous businesses such as SpaceX. Musk has not commented on the information published by the US newspaper.
During this year's US presidential election, billionaire Elon Musk was a supporter of former President Donald Trump. Mr. Musk wrote many times on social network X, claiming that the US has "open borders" and that undocumented immigrants are harming the US.
