On June 7, the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that Indonesian President Joko Widodo will pay an official state visit to Malaysia from June 7-8.

According to the statement, the visit is of great significance in efforts to further strengthen the close and traditional relationship between Malaysia and Indonesia.
During the visit, President Joko Widodo will meet with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to assess the progress of bilateral cooperation and discuss outstanding bilateral issues.
The two leaders are expected to discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern, including strengthening the ASEAN cooperation framework after 2025.
In addition, the two leaders will also witness the exchange of a number of cooperation agreements signed between representatives of relevant ministries and branches.
In 2022, Indonesia was Malaysia's 6th largest trading partner globally and 2nd largest in ASEAN. Total two-way trade turnover reached 29.55 billion USD, up 36.5% compared to 22.98 billion USD in 2021.
