President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin was born on October 7, 1952 in Leningrad; graduated from the Faculty of Law of Leningrad University and is a Doctor of Economics.

In 1975, he began working at the Committee for State Security (KGB).

From 1985 to 1991, he worked in the German Democratic Republic.

From 1991 to 1996, he was Chairman of the St. Petersburg City Committee for Foreign Relations; Deputy Chairman of the St. Petersburg Government and then First Deputy Mayor of St. Petersburg, in charge of the city's foreign relations.

In 1996, he moved to Moscow, serving as Deputy Director of the Financial Management Department of the President of the Russian Federation.

On March 26, 1997, he was Deputy Head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation.

In May 1998, he was the First Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of the Russian Federation, in charge of local affairs.

In March 2024, he was elected President of the Russian Federation (5th term).

Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited Vietnam four times.
