RT quoted information from the Kremlin saying that Russian President Putin had a phone call with his US counterpart Donald Trump on June 14 to discuss Israel's attack on Iran as well as the conflict in Ukraine. According to Russian President's assistant, Mr. Yury Ushakov, the phone call was "meaningful, frank and most importantly, very useful".

During the phone call, Mr. Putin condemned Israel's attack on Iran on June 13, just days before nuclear talks between the US and Iran are scheduled to take place on June 15. The two leaders still left open the possibility of continuing discussions on Iran's nuclear program.
"Despite the current unstable situation, the Russian and American presidents do not rule out the possibility of continuing discussions on Iran's nuclear program," Putin's aide added.

President Putin and Mr Trump also discussed the latest prisoner exchanges between Moscow and Kiev. The Russian president confirmed his readiness to continue negotiations with Ukraine “after June 22”.
During the latest round of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul, Türkiye, on June 2, the two sides agreed to carry out prisoner exchanges, focusing mainly on seriously wounded, sick and young soldiers. Russia also unilaterally decided to repatriate the bodies of more than 6,000 Ukrainian servicemen on humanitarian grounds.
According to Mr. Ushakov, on this occasion, Russian President Putin also congratulated US leader Donald Trump, who turned 79 on June 14, on his birthday.
"Both presidents expressed satisfaction with personal relations that allow them to discuss and seek solutions to pressing issues on the bilateral and international agenda, no matter how complex these issues may be," Putin's aide stressed.
