Over the past week, security teams have been working to “make MetLife Stadium the safest place in the country,” according to News 12. Current security protocols will be enhanced to meet Secret Service standards.
A security expert told News 12 that while fans will have to pay more attention and may have to wait longer in line, they should feel more secure. They will avoid the risks they faced a year ago during the 2024 Copa America final (Colombian and Argentine fans trampled each other outside).
“Given the current situation and what we have seen, I am sure that security will be significantly increased,” the security official said. “Fans should know that this is a positive sign.”
Bomb disposal technicians, tactical teams and emergency medical services have been on duty for the past few days. They will be busy during the upcoming final. In addition, the Secret Service will set up more checkpoints and there will be a larger police presence.
The organizers recommend that fans arrive early. The match takes place in the afternoon local time, but they are advised to arrive at the stadium from 10:00 am, and no later than 12:00 pm to avoid crowding and put pressure on security forces.
