On the morning of August 8, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Dinh Ward (HCMC) coordinated with Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO) to start construction of drinking water fountains on the streets to serve the people.
Since the end of 2024, many drinking fountains have been installed by Sawaco on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City.
The direct drinking water fountain installed at the headquarters of Tan Dinh Ward People's Committee was donated by Ben Thanh Water Supply Joint Stock Company, a unit under SAWACO, worth 95 million VND. It is a project of the ward to welcome the 1st Party Congress, towards the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025 - 2030 term.
Previously, Xuan Hoa Ward People's Committee also coordinated with Ben Thanh Water Supply Joint Stock Company, a member unit of SAWACO, to simultaneously start construction of 4 drinking fountains at two locations in front of Xuan Hoa Ward People's Committee, Tran Quoc Thao Street and District 3 Martyrs Monument near Cong Ly Bridge.
This project has practical significance in improving the quality of public health care. It encourages the habit of using clean, safe, economical and environmentally friendly water sources.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phat - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan Hoa Ward - shared: In addition to welcoming the first Party Congress of the ward, the project also concretizes the goals of the Party Congress Resolution and the policy of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on developing a civilized and modern urban area, associated with improving the quality of life of the people.
The Ben Thanh Water Supply Joint Stock Company, a subsidiary of Sawaco, sponsored the entire cost of 380 million VND for 4 direct drinking water fountains at public places. The installation of the fountains is considered to be suitable for practical needs, aiming to protect public health. In addition, it encourages people to use clean water, limit the use of plastic bottles and build a green and economical lifestyle.
According to Mr. Phat, this is a vivid demonstration and also a concrete step in the process of "Building Xuan Hoa ward to become a model locality of modern, effective and efficient urban government" as directed by General Secretary To Lam .

Four direct drinking water stations at public places were fully funded by Ben Thanh Water Supply Joint Stock Company, a unit under Sawaco, with a cost of 380 million VND.
Specifically, the installation locations include in front of the City Children's House (2 pillars), in front of the old District 3 Children's House, in front of the War Remnants Museum, the International Square roundabout (2 pillars), in front of the old District 3 Medical Center, the Southern Women's Museum and the City Eye Hospital.
According to Sawaco representative, all drinking water fountains are managed by software. Information and results of water quality monitoring of the fountain will be updated and announced via QR code affixed to the fountain.
After being put into use, this unit will periodically monitor microbiological indicators according to standards every month/quarter (depending on the number of pillars put into use). Every year, the unit will fully monitor all indicators once more.
The unit also ensures the cleanliness of the outside of the column and the area around the column at least twice a day or more depending on actual conditions. Check the operating status of the water column and repair deformed or damaged columns, replace the faucet when it leaks or is damaged once a week.
