In particular, the book street system in Ho Chi Minh City will be expanded to the East, West, South, and North, contributing to developing a reading culture for the people.

The locations are located at Binh Tan District Park, Nguyen Dong Chi Book Street (District 7), Cu Chi District Cultural, Sports and Communication Center.

These spaces are expected to be completed before April 30, 2025, in time for the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

The perspective design will be announced at the opening event of Book and Digital Transformation Week on the morning of October 25. Together with Nguyen Van Binh Book Street (District 1) - the central area - and Thu Duc City Book Street, the three new locations will form the four coordinates of the city's West, North, East, and South.

"We hope to create a reading culture ecosystem, turning Ho Chi Minh City's book streets into typical addresses for cultural, tourism and publishing activities," said Mr. Huu Anh.

In addition, the Department launched a plan to provide 5 million books to the people . Currently, more than 1.4 million books have been mobilized thanks to socialized resources. The management agency strives that by the end of 2025, these books will be distributed to libraries of primary, secondary, high schools, continuingeducation schools and libraries of 21 districts.

The program is implemented to help people, especially students, access reading methods in the digital transformation era.
