Ho Chi Minh City will accompany Lotte to continue implementing the Thu Thiem Eco Smart City project.

On the afternoon of October 3, in Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc, along with 4 vice chairmen and leaders of departments and branches, had a working session with Lotte Group (Korea) regarding the implementation of the Thu Thiem Smart Complex Project (Thu Thiem Eco Smart City).

At the meeting, Mr. Jun Sung Ho, General Director of Lotte Properties HCMC Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Lotte Group) said that on August 20, the enterprise sent a document to the City People's Committee requesting the termination of the Thu Thiem Eco Smart City Project.

However, after a direct meeting with Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc on August 29, the Group's leaders changed their views and decided to continue implementing the Project.

On September 12, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee sent a document to the Prime Minister , recommending to remove difficulties so that investors can continue to implement this project.

“We would like to thank the city leaders for their encouragement and support, which helps the group strengthen its confidence in the city's investment environment to continue implementing the Project,” said Mr. Jun Sung Ho.

After listening to the businesses' recommendations, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee affirmed that the City always cares about and accompanies investors, including Lotte's projects.

He emphasized that the City leaders and departments working directly with Lotte Group is clear evidence of this commitment.

“We hope that investors will continue to accompany the City, together overcome difficulties, effectively implement the project, and contribute to the overall development of Ho Chi Minh City as well as Lotte itself,” emphasized Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc.

Regarding specific recommendations related to Lotte Group's Project, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee directly discussed with the group's leaders and relevant departments and branches to find solutions.

At the end of the working session, the head of the City government continued to affirm that the City always creates favorable conditions for businesses to implement the Project, contributing to the sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City and investors.

Lotte Eco Smart City Complex project in functional area No. 2A, Thu Thiem New Urban Area was broken ground by Lotte in September 2022.

Lotte Eco Smart City complex is invested and built on a land area of 74,513 m2, of which the project development area is about 50,000 m2 in functional area No. 2A, Thu Thiem New Urban Area.

The project is built with a scale of 5 basements and 60 floors including functional areas such as hotels, residential areas, and commercial areas. This complex will apply smart technologies to create many added values.

However, after 3 years of groundbreaking, due to legal procedure problems, the project could not be implemented.
