Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam: Potential tourism market of Hong Kong (China)

(HTV) - With many similarities in culture and modern lifestyle, Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong (China) are becoming potential destinations to promote cooperation in tourism development in the coming time.

With its modern lifestyle and unique landscape, Hong Kong (China) is increasingly becoming an attractive destination for Vietnamese tourists. From January to July this year, Hong Kong (China) welcomed more than 39,000 Vietnamese visitors, an increase of 46.6% over the same period. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City is considered a potential market, due to similarities in culture, cuisine and lifestyle, promising to open up many opportunities for cooperation in developing the tourism industry.

Hong Kong (China) has attracted a large number of Vietnamese tourists here.

Hong Kong (China) impresses with its harmonious architecture between classic and modern, along with experiences associated with TVB cinema - familiar to many generations of Vietnamese audiences. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao - a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, shared: "As a fan of TVB, traveling to Hong Kong (China) is truly a special experience, recalling a past childhood" .

Not only evoking cinematic memories, Hong Kong (China) is also famous for its world- class amusement parks such as Ocean Park or DisneyLand. Ms. Do Mai Anh - a tourist in Ho Chi Minh City, said: "DisneyLand is a suitable place for families, coming here I can find my childhood, especially the performances and architecture are very impressive" .

According to Mr. Phan Quoc Dai - Deputy Director of Foreign Tourism Division, Saigontourist Travel Services Company Limited: "Ho Chi Minh City is very similar to Hong Kong (China) , so it is easy for both sides to have tourism products to attract tourists" .

From an international perspective, Ms. Liew Chian Jia - Director of Southeast Asia, Hong Kong Tourism Board (China), emphasized: "Vietnam is one of the key markets in Southeast Asia. Through creative and interactive campaigns, we hope to introduce the image of Hong Kong (China) as more vibrant and attractive than ever, from unique cultural experiences to a series of international events taking place all year round" .

Hong Kong (China) attracts tourists with famous destinations such as Disneyland and modern landscapes along Victoria Harbor.

Known as the “Event Capital of Asia” , Hong Kong (China) not only attracts tourists with experiential tourism but is also the leading MICE (meetings, conferences, exhibitions) center in the region and the world. This is clearly a potential market that Ho Chi Minh City can strengthen cooperation and exchange in the coming time, opening up great prospects for the smokeless industry.
