Ho Chi Minh City: Arrested a subject for illegally storing drugs

On the morning of October 22, Phuoc Tinh Border Guard Station (Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard) announced that it had discovered and caught a subject in the act of illegally possessing drugs.

After a period of monitoring and ambush, at 4:00 p.m. on October 21, at a road section belonging to Group 10, Tan Phuoc Hamlet (Long Hai Commune, Ho Chi Minh City), the drug and crime prevention force of Phuoc Tinh Border Guard Station coordinated with Long Hai Commune Police to arrest Nguyen Thanh Tri (born in 1991, residing in Long Hai Commune) in the act of illegally storing drugs.

At the scene, the authorities seized a plastic bag containing white crystals weighing about 5 grams. Through investigation, Tri admitted that the evidence was methamphetamine.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Truong Huy Phuong, Chief of Phuoc Tinh Border Guard Station, during the emulation campaign "80 days and nights of exemplary action" to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Military Region 7's traditional day, the unit closely followed the area, proactively grasped the situation, regularly patrolled and was ready to handle situations, thereby detecting and effectively fighting crimes, especially drugs, contributing to maintaining security and order in the coastal border area.
