Accordingly, the Danang City Union of Friendship Organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding with 3 foreign non-governmental organizations, including: Giving It Back To Kids (USA), Children of Vietnam (USA) and Lifestart Foundation (Australia). These are partners who have accompanied and worked together for a long time, bringing practical contributions to the people of Danang City in recent years. In the period of 2025 - 2030, these 3 organizations committed to continue sponsoring programs, projects, and non-projects for the city through the Danang City Union of Friendship Organizations with a total value of nearly 2.5 million USD (equivalent to 62.5 billion VND).
Specifically, the Giving It Back To Kids Organization (USA) committed to sponsoring 1.06 million USD (equivalent to 27.5 billion VND) focusing on areas to promote sustainable development, human development, spreading human values through education , enhancing life skills and community support programs. The Children of Vietnam Organization (USA) will promote cooperation in education support programs, infrastructure, nutrition and emergency relief with a total expected funding of 1 million USD (equivalent to 26 billion VND). In addition, the Lifestart Foundation (Australia) sponsors 343,500 USD (equivalent to 9 billion VND) through educational scholarship and medical scholarship programs, along with non-humanitarian support projects such as: clean water filtration systems, bicycles, necessities and blankets for poor students and students in difficult circumstances.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Man, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, highly appreciated the role of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Da Nang City in being a solid bridge, effectively, practically and successfully connecting foreign diplomatic agencies, consulates, international organizations, individuals, friends around the world with the city's government and people, supporting the locality in the cause of economic and social construction and development. Ms. Tran Thi Man affirmed that Da Nang City will create all favorable conditions for organizations to continue to effectively implement programs, projects and non-projects in Da Nang in the coming time; thereby actively contributing to the city's social security work.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, Chairman of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Da Nang City, from 2021 to present, the Union of Friendship Organizations of the city has mobilized 30 foreign non-governmental organizations to sponsor more than 110 programs, projects, and non-projects in the fields of health, education, sustainable poverty reduction, disaster risk reduction, environmental protection, and social security support with mobilization results reaching nearly 80 billion VND.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding today will open a new phase from 2025 to 2030, which is expected to be carried out in many signings with foreign NGOs.
