These activities are expected to be implemented from the 2025-2026 school year. Previously, in the 2024-2025 school year, a number of secondary and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City (old) applied a regulation banning students from using phones in school to help them focus on studying, participating in school activities and interacting with friends.

Many schools have phone cabinets in the classroom. When entering the classroom, students hand in their phones to the monitor to lock and store; they can only use them when requested by the subject teacher. After class, students get their phones back.
