In the 2024-2025 school year, with many efforts and cooperation of collectives and individuals, the work of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and the children's movement continued to achieve many outstanding achievements, especially the implementation of high-level emulation activities of the city's youth union members and children to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

The Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and Children's Movement create an environment for Youth Union members and children to practice Uncle Ho's 5 teachings well; introduce exemplary Youth Union members, organize Uncle Ho's Good Children Congresses at all levels, with the theme "50 years - Spring flowers of the country, our Youth Union continues to step forward"; implement the program "Steadfastly walking with you", equipping Youth Union members and children with social practice skills, promoting children's participation rights...

In the 2025-2026 school year, after merging Ho Chi Minh City with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau , the city will implement the first program of the Youth Union and children's movement with the theme "Children of Uncle Ho's City firmly step into the new era", aiming to build a comprehensive development environment for children in the new situation.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh emphasized that the city's leaders always pay much attention to the protection, care and education of children, and have many mechanisms and policies to care for and nurture the young generation, right from childhood. The city will continue to invest heavily in the fields of health, education, public health care and physical and intellectual development for the young generation.

At the conference, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union organized the launching of the Ho Chi Minh City Young Pioneers Team (after the reorganization). Previously, on August 4, 2025, at the first conference of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Executive Committee in the interim period (after the reorganization of provincial administrative units), it was agreed to establish the Ho Chi Minh City Young Pioneers Team.

Also at the conference, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union expressed gratitude to the members of the Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Youth Union Councils who temporarily stopped participating in the City Youth Union Council; rewarded collectives that had excellently completed the work of the Youth Union and the city's children's movement; 45 collectives and individuals who had well implemented the movement "Read and follow the Youth Union newspaper"; 38 collectives and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in the "Our Youth Union's Trumpet" festival in the 2024-2025 school year.

After the merger of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, Ho Chi Minh City has more than 3 million children and 1,031,707 team members. The City Team Council has 168 ward, commune, and special zone Team Councils with 1,275 affiliated primary and secondary school teams, the unit with the largest number of affiliated teams in the country.
