On the afternoon of July 19, the Departmentof Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City sent a document to the head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, 21 districts and principals of high schools on instructions for additional enrollment of grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year at public high schools that have not yet met their enrollment quota.
Accordingly, the subjects eligible to participate in additional enrollment for grade 10 are:
Students who do not pass any of their admission wishes to public high schools and must have entrance exam scores of 3 subjects: Math + Literature + Foreign Language + Priority Points (if any) greater than or equal to the admission standard score of the 3rd wish of the public high school they want to apply for.
For students who have studied at secondary schools in the areas of Can Gio, Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi and Thu Duc city, if they register for schools in the same area as their secondary school: The total entrance exam score of the candidate will be considered according to the standard score of the first choice of the public high school they want to register for admission.
Each student can only register for additional enrollment at 1 public high school that has not yet met its assigned enrollment quota and cannot change schools after submitting the additional enrollment registration application.
Additional admission documents: Students wishing to apply for additional admission must submit their application directly to the high school (according to the list attached in the appendix), including the 10th grade entrance exam score report issued by the middle school and stamped with a red seal.
Additional admission method: The Admissions Council is responsible for receiving applications within the prescribed time, ensuring that candidates meet the prescribed conditions.
Admission form: Based on the remaining admission quota, the total score of 3 subjects: Math + Literature + Foreign Language + priority points (if any) to determine the additional admitted candidates. The additional admission score is from high to low until the quota is met.
In case the number of admitted candidates exceeds the remaining quota due to many candidates having the same score, the school's Admissions Council will adjust the number of admitted candidates in the spirit that the number of admitted candidates does not exceed the assigned quota.
According to the Department of Education and Training, some differences compared to the additional recruitment in the previous school year are that only candidates who have studied at secondary schools in Nha Be, Can Gio, Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, Binh Chanh districts and Thu Duc city, which are suburban areas, will have the following priority mechanism: Submitting applications to high schools with additional recruitment in the same district. For example, if a student studies at secondary school in Binh Chanh district and applies to a high school with additional recruitment in the same district, the total score of the application will be considered according to NV1, not NV3. If a candidate studies at secondary school in Binh Chanh district and applies to a high school not in the above districts, it will still be considered according to NV3.
Secondary school students in the above areas when participating in the additional admission exam will be given priority over secondary school students in other districts if they participate in the same admission exam.
Specifically, only when all students in the area are considered will students from other areas be considered if there are still quotas.
According to the plan, no later than 5:00 p.m. on July 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will announce the list of high schools organizing additional enrollment and the enrollment quotas of each school on the city's enrollment page at https://ts10.hcm.edu.vn.
From July 22 to 5:00 p.m. on July 27, high schools will receive applications for additional enrollment.
From July 29 to July 31, high schools will conduct enrollment on exam management software.
August 6 announced the list of additional successful candidates.
From August 7 to 4:00 p.m. on August 12, 2024, high schools will organize the reception of additional admitted candidates./.
