On the morning of April 28, the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Civil and Industrial Works of Ho Chi Minh City held the inauguration ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City Forensic Center with a total investment of nearly 200 billion VND from the city budget.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Nguyen Hoai Nam expressed his joy and affirmed that the timely operation of the Ho Chi Minh City Forensic Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center - PV) on the occasion of the whole country joyfully celebrating the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day is a great joy for the city's health sector.
Regarding the center's development strategy, the Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health suggested that the center continue to improve its operations to become an international facility and develop sustainable professional tasks, contributing to the city's health sector to achieve higher achievements.
The center's leadership must restructure, organize, arrange and quickly put into full operation. Implement innovation, improve system management capacity, improve service quality, increase people's satisfaction...

Reviewing the process of the center's formation, Dr. Mai Quang Truong, Deputy Executive Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Forensic Center, said that 16 years ago, when it was first established, the center was called the Ho Chi Minh City Forensic - Forensic Psychiatric Assessment Organization, just a small room located on the campus of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, facing many difficulties in terms of facilities, medical equipment and human resources.
“Overcoming everything, especially not being bothered by social prejudices against the forensic profession - the profession of "body surgery", the collective of doctors, nurses and workers of the center have strived to overcome difficulties, organized in a systematic and scientific manner, gradually improving the quality of forensic and medical examination activities; researching and using advanced medical knowledge to serve the law, contributing to maintaining security and social order in the city", Dr. Mai Quang Truong shared and affirmed: "We will effectively operate the center's modern facilities to soon bring the center up to date with the general trends in forensic examination in the world with a vision for the future and form the largest forensic training center in the country. That is also a way to pay tribute to previous generations and continue the journey of "speaking for the deceased".
Ho Chi Minh City Forensic Center was started on May 28, 2020, with a total land area of over 7,660m2 , scale of 1 basement, 5 floors. Ancillary works include a funeral home, scrap warehouse, security house... Total investment capital is over 194 billion VND, from the state budget.
