On August 8, the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Civil and Industrial Works of Ho Chi Minh City held a groundbreaking ceremony for the social housing project at 4 Phan Chu Trinh, Binh Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong said that after merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau , Ho Chi Minh City was assigned the target of completing a total of 199,400 social housing units. Of which, in the 2021-2025 period, it is expected to complete over 18,000 units and in the 2026-2030 period, it will continue to complete 181,000 units.

“This is a very high requirement to ensure social development targets not only for the city but also for the whole country. The social housing project at 4 Phan Chu Trinh not only helps Ho Chi Minh City achieve its social housing development targets, but also directly serves the resettlement of more than 1,030 households that have to be relocated out of a total of more than 2,000 households affected by the Xuyen Tam canal project. Households that do not meet the conditions for resettlement land or apartments will be considered for resettlement here,” Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong emphasized.

Also at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Truong, Deputy Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Civil and Industrial Works of Ho Chi Minh City informed that the social housing project at No. 4 Phan Chu Trinh belongs to Group B, level II project, built on a land area of 12,099m² with 3 apartment blocks B1, B2, B3, 20 floors high, a total of 864 apartments with an area of 40 - 76m², flexibly arranged from 1 to 3 bedrooms.
Each block combines residential functions with commercial and service functions, integrating community living areas, green parks, landscapes and essential amenities, creating a civilized and modern living environment. The total construction floor area is about 80,318m². The project has invested in a synchronous internal traffic system, water supply and drainage, electricity supply, fire prevention and fighting, information technology, and surveillance cameras. The total investment is nearly 997.4 billion VND from the city budget, with implementation time from now until the end of 2027.
