In the hand, the watch offers a tangible solidity, and at the same time a silent commitment to durability. The weight of 54.7 grams (without the strap) is not light, but it is well distributed throughout the body, giving the feeling of a high-end mechanical watch rather than a piece of technology.

The distinctive octagonal bezel design, which at first glance can be mistaken for the Watch GT5 Pro generation, is now raised, embracing the sapphire crystal, creating a stronger highlight, enhancing protection, and at the same time giving a distinct feeling of mass to the surface, similar to the design of a traditional watch. Details such as the rotating knob and customizable sub-buttons are all meticulously crafted, providing a bouncy click feeling and precise tactile feedback.

The GT6 Pro also ends the "war" of smartwatch screens with sunlight thanks to a 1.47-inch AMOLED panel (larger than the previous generation) with a brightness of up to 3,000 nits, making it clear to see even in the middle of the day. This is useful when users move a lot outdoors during the day and need to see notifications, and is especially useful when this year's generation of devices has added a cycling activity tracking feature.

Practical experience shows that by simply turning the wrist slightly to face the watch (to wake up the device) during exercise, the wearer can clearly see all indicators from heart rate, movement speed, exercise time...

Due to its rugged appearance and 46mm face size, the device is only suitable for men with wrists larger than 16.5 cm.

The battery is the "game changer" of the Watch GT6 Pro compared to its predecessors and many other competitors on the market. Huawei said that the new high-silicon battery technology on the GT6 series significantly improves the user experience of using the watch, and that is not just an empty advertisement, but really gives users a sense of freedom, free from the obsession of having to charge the device many times a week.

During the first week, the wearer turned on almost all features: always-on display (AOD), continuous heart rate monitoring, SpO2 measurement, sleep tracking, received hundreds of notifications per day and performed three 2-3 hour workouts each. After exactly 7 days, the watch still had more than 30% battery left. At this intensity, users can rest assured that the device has enough energy to operate continuously for 10 days, provided all features are turned on and the wearer is not removed.

Similar testing during a 6-day business trip, the watch still had close to 50% battery left due to not using sports mode (but with continuous index tracking turned on and moving a lot each day).

Leaving the automatic body index measurement modes on continuously does not hinder the battery life experience.

Since the Watch 5 and Watch GT6 series, Huawei has used a different charger than the previous generation, so users need to store the charger neatly and in an easy-to-find place, avoiding the situation of charging 1-2 times a month and easily forgetting where to put it.

The trade-off between "smart" and "accurate"

With the improved TruSense sensor and the new Sunflower navigation system, the GT6 Pro proves itself to be a professional sports tracker. During runs, the route is recorded with impressive accuracy, with almost no deviation from dedicated devices. Heart rate is measured consistently, even during high-intensity sprints. New features such as measuring "Virtual Power" for cyclists are a testament to Huawei's serious focus on serious sports users.

However, to achieve this durability and specialization, the GT6 Pro had to accept a trade-off. The "smart" experience of the device stopped at the basic level to focus on the experience of measuring indexes. Users can receive notifications, make clear Bluetooth calls, and capture almost all body indexes, but the third-party application ecosystem on the device is limited. Recently, Huawei has "recovered" somewhat by adding the ability to pay on the watch thanks to the connection with MoMo e-wallet in the Vietnamese market.
