On September 10 last year, Huawei surprised the technology world when it introduced the Mate XT, the world's first tri-fold screen smartphone.
To date, this remains the only device in this segment to be commercially available.
While competitors are still hesitant, Huawei has continued to launch an upgraded version called Mate XTs. Keeping the name quite similar shows that this is only a slight improvement compared to Mate XT.
The appearance of the Mate XTs remains virtually unchanged, still using a dual-hinge design that allows the screen to be expanded to two different levels.
The Mate XTs comes with a 6.4-inch external display to act as a regular bar-shaped smartphone.
When unfolded, the device can transform into a 7.9-inch tablet. When fully opened, the device becomes a large-screen 10.2-inch tablet, providing a superior display experience.

The notable upgrade on the Mate XTs is the 1,440Hz PWM screen technology, which helps limit flickering and reduce eye strain when used for a long time. The screen also supports a stylus, a feature that first appeared on Huawei's trifold line.

In terms of performance, the Mate XTs are equipped with the Kirin 9020 chip, replacing the Kirin 9010 on the Mate XT. Both are self-developed by Huawei on the 7nm process, still inferior to current high-end chips manufactured on the 3-4nm process.
The device retains 16GB of RAM, with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB memory options, meeting users' large storage needs.
Huawei also upgraded the ultra-wide-angle camera on the Mate XTs to 40 megapixels, instead of 12 megapixels like the Mate XT. The main camera still retains a resolution of 50 megapixels, while the 12 megapixel telephoto camera supports 5.5x optical zoom. The device also integrates a laser light to help focus faster and more accurately in low light conditions.
Mate XTs runs on the HarmonyOS 5.1 platform developed entirely by Huawei, no longer relying on Android source code as before.
Despite its ultra-thin design, only 4.8mm when fully opened, the device is still equipped with a large 5,600mAh battery, along with 66W fast charging technology - quite impressive in the foldable smartphone segment.

In the Chinese market, Mate XTs are sold with a starting price of 17,999 yuan (about 66.5 million VND) and a maximum of 21,999 yuan (about 81.2 million VND), slightly lower than the selling price of Mate XT last year.
