According to the Defense Command of Region 3 - Tra My, heavy rain lasting from the evening of October 28 to the morning of October 29 caused the water level of Truong River and Nuoc Oa River to rise, causing deep flooding and cutting off traffic on many routes.
A series of residential areas in Tra My and Tra Tan communes were isolated, including Tan Hiep village, where 8 households with more than 40 people were not able to evacuate in time and were trapped for many hours.
Upon receiving the information, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Hau - Political Commissar of the Defense Command of Region 3 was directly present at the scene to direct the rescue, grasp the situation and deploy forces to support the people. However, due to the impact of continuous heavy rain, the fast flowing floodwaters caused great difficulty in accessing the work.
At the same time, the terrain is completely divided by mountain ranges and strong river currents, carrying a lot of trash and trees from upstream, making it impossible for motorboats and aluminum boats to approach safely.
Faced with that situation, the unit commander proposed using specialized drones to drop relief goods to the people.
The plan was quickly deployed with technical support from a local private enterprise, helping to deliver 30 boxes of instant noodles, dry food and drinking water to isolated households safely and effectively.
Meanwhile, in Tran Duong village (Tra My commune), rising river water flooded a nearly 500 meter long main road, with some places being more than 1.5 meters deep, seriously affecting the lives of hundreds of households.

Thanks to the good implementation of the "4 on-the-spot" motto, the army, police and militia forces promptly supported people to evacuate, move the elderly and children to safety, and help households in deep flooded areas to raise their assets./.
